2022 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships
The 2022 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships (also known as the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships for sponsorship purposes) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 52nd edition of the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships, and an ATP Tour 250 event on the 2022 ATP Tour. It was originally scheduled to take place at River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas, United States for April 6 through April 12, 2020, but this edition of the tournament was postponed to April 4 through April 10, 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ATP World Tour 250 Series
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Tour Masters 1000, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020 ATP Tour, 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. Casper Ruud
Casper Ruud (born 22 December 1998) is a Norwegian professional tennis player. Ruud has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2, achieved on 12 September 2022, making him the highest-ranked Norwegian tennis player in history. He has won nine ATP Tour singles titles, eight of which were on clay courts. Ruud is the first Norwegian man to win an ATP singles title, to reach major finals (at the 2022 French Open and US Open finals), to reach a Masters 1000 final, and to enter the top 20 in the ATP rankings. Michael Mmoh ( ; born January 10, 1998) is a Saudi-born American tennis player. Mmoh has a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 82 achieved on 20 February 2023. Steven Diez ( es, Díez, ; born March 17, 1991) is a Canadian and former Spanish professional tennis player. Raised primarily in and competing for Spain early in his career, he has since gone on to represent the country of his birth, Canada, in the Davis Cup.
