2022 Surbiton Trophy
The 2022 Surbiton Trophy was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor grass. It was the 17th edition for men and 18th for women, which were respectively part of the 2022 ATP Challenger Tour and the 2022 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. Jay Alexander Clarke (born 27 July 1998) is a British tennis player. In 2017, on a Wimbledon wildcard, Clarke and Marcus Willis beat the defending doubles champions and second seeds, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, in five sets, to progress to the third round. Ryan Peniston (born 10 November 1995) is a British tennis player from Essex. He has a career-high singles ranking of world no. 123, achieved in July 2022, and a doubles ranking of world no. 384 achieved in June 2022. Personal life Ryan Harold Peniston was born in November 1995 to Paul and Penny (née Gok). He has two older brothers, Sam and Harry. Paul Jubb (born 31 October 1999) is a British tennis player. Jubb has a career high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of 196, which he achieved on the 12th of September 2022. Early years At the age of four Jubb was spotted playing tennis at Pelican Park near his home in Hull. He was spotted by tennis coach Jonny Carmichael.
