2022 Paris–Roubaix Femmes
The 2022 Paris–Roubaix Femmes (officially Paris–Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift) was a French road cycling one-day race that took place on 16 April 2022. It was the 2nd edition of Paris–Roubaix Femmes and the 8th event of the 2022 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by the Italian champion Elisa Longo Borghini, after a solo break with around 30 kilometres remaining, the second win by a long solo break in succession, after Lizzie Deignan's inaugural edition triumph in 2021. Route The route used a near identical course to the first edition, with the only change being an additional starting circuit in Denain. The race finished on the velodrome in Roubaix after covering , with of cobblestones, spread out over 17 sectors. The women covered the same final 17 sectors as the men's race. The 2022 UCI Women's World Tour is a competition that includes twenty-five road cycling events throughout the 2022 women's cycling season. It is the seventh edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition will begin with Strade Bianche on 5 March, and finishes with the Tour de Romandie Féminin on 9 October. Events The race calendar for the 2022 season was announced in June 2021, with twenty-four races initially scheduled – up from eighteen that were held in 2021. In September 2021, the Tour de Romandie Féminin was added to make a total of twenty-five races. The two Chinese races were cancelled in June 2022, making a total of twenty three races. Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk (; born 11 February 1987) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. Floortje Mackaij (born 18 October 1995) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . After switching from speed skating to road cycling she became the 2013 junior Dutch National time trial Champion and won a silver medal in the junior time trial at the 2013 European Road Championships. In the same year she represented her country at the UCI Road World Championships in the junior time trial and road race. Roubaix Velodrome
The Roubaix Velodrome (officially Vélodrome André-Pétrieux) is a velodrome in Roubaix, Nord, France. It was opened in 1936 and has hosted the finish of the one-day " monument classic" cycling race Paris–Roubaix since 1943. The race moved to the current stadium in 1943, and there it has stayed with the exceptions of 1986, 1987 and 1988 when the finish was in the avenue des Nations-Unies, outside the offices of La Redoute, the mail-order company which sponsored the race.
