2022 Nottingham Open
The 2022 Nottingham Open (also known as the Rothesay Open Nottingham for sponsorship purposes) was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It was the 14th edition of the event for women and the 26th edition for men. It was classified as a WTA 250 on the 2022 WTA Tour for the women, and as an ATP Challenger Tour event for the men. WTA 250 Tournaments
WTA 250 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International tournaments, WTA International Tournaments. As of 2021, WTA 250 tournaments include events with prize money of approximately $250,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 280. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 470 for winning a WTA 500 tournament. This system differs slightly from that used for the men's ATP Tour, which has ATP Tour 250 events with 250 points for the winner (similar to WTA 250 tournaments), and two higher tiers of ATP tournaments offer 1000 and 500 points for winning, respectively. Monica Niculescu
Monica Niculescu (born 25 September 1987) is a Romanian professional tennis player. She has been ranked by the Women's Tennis Association as high as 28 in singles and 11 in doubles. Niculescu has won several titles: three singles and ten doubles titles on the WTA Tour, one singles and one doubles title at WTA 125 tournaments, as well as 19 singles and 22 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. She has ranked within the top 30 for several years in singles. Niculescu entered the Grand Slam doubles final at Wimbledon 2017 tournament, together with Chan Hao-ching. Daniel Mark L. Cox (born 28 September 1990 in Lincoln, England), is a British tennis player. While playing tennis for Lincolnshire, he first came into international prominence when he reached the finals of Le Petit As, Tarbes. A right-hander who favours slow hardcourts, but seems to be comfortable on all surfaces, Cox recently chose Marco Tennis Academy, in Marbella, as a training base, favouring the warm weather training in Spain over that in the United Kingdom. Marius Copil (born 17 October 1990) is a Romanian professional tennis player playing on the ATP World Tour and ATP Challenger Tour. He is a member of the Romanian Davis Cup team. Paul Jubb (born 31 October 1999) is a British tennis player. Jubb has a career high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of 196, which he achieved on the 12th of September 2022. Early years At the age of four Jubb was spotted playing tennis at Pelican Park near his home in Hull. He was spotted by tennis coach Jonny Carmichael.
