2022 New York State Assembly Election
The 2022 New York State Assembly election was held on November 8, 2022. Elections were held to elect representatives from all 150 districts across the State of New York. This election coincided with New York elections for the governorship, U.S. Senate, and state senate, among others. Districts for this election were redrawn following the 2020 United States census. Democrats have held a majority in the New York State Assembly since 1975. New York State Assembly
The New York State Assembly is the lower house of the New York State Legislature, with the New York State Senate being the upper house. There are 150 seats in the Assembly. Assembly members serve two-year terms without term limits. The Assembly convenes at the State Capitol in Albany. Leadership of the Assembly The Speaker of the Assembly presides over the Assembly. The Speaker is elected by the Majority Conference followed by confirmation of the full Assembly through the passage of an Assembly Resolution. In addition to presiding over the body, the Speaker also has the chief leadership position, and controls the flow of legislation and committee assignments. Dan Quart
Dan Quart (born May 29, 1972) is an American lawyer and politician. He was a member of the New York State Assembly representing District 73 which includes parts of the Upper East Side and Midtown East areas in the Manhattan, New York City, New York. He was originally elected in a special election in 2011 following the resignation of Jonathan Bing. On December 23, 2021 he announced his plan to step down at the end of his current term. The ''Bronx Times-Reporter'' is a weekly newspaper published in the Bronx, New York. It was co-founded in 1981 by John Collazzi and Assemblyman Michael Benedetto. José Rivera (born July 30, 1936) is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the Fordham-Bedford, Kingsbridge Heights, Bedford Park, and Belmont sections of the Bronx. He is a Democrat.
