2022 Nepal Tri-Nation Series
The 2023 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series was the 20th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament, which took place in the United Arab Emirates in February and March 2023. It was a tri-nation series between United Arab Emirates, Nepal and Papua New Guinea with the matches played in the One Day International (ODI) format. The World Cup League 2 tournament forms part of the qualification process for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Nepal's 42-run win against the UAE in the final match of the series kept them in contention for the third and final automatic place in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, and confirmed that the UAE would have to earn a place via the World Cup Qualifier Play-off. 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2
The 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 is the first edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, a cricket tournament which forms part of the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualification process. It is currently running from August 2019 to February 2023, with all matches played as One Day Internationals (ODIs). Each set of fixtures will take part as a tri-series. Scotland, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates were joined by the top four teams from the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. The first round of fixtures was played in Aberdeen, Scotland in August 2019. The top three teams will advance to the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament, while the bottom four teams will have to go into the 2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. The 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off was the inaugural edition of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off, a cricket tournament which formed part of the 2023 Cricket World Cup qualification process. It took place in March and April 2023, with all matches having One Day International (ODI) status, regardless of whether or not a team had ODI status prior to the start of the event. As a result, Jersey played their first ever matches with ODI status. Six teams qualified for the tournament: the bottom four teams from the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 along with the top teams in Groups A and B of the 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League.
