2022 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship
The 2022 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship season was the 46th season of the premier class of circuit-based motorcycle racing in the United States and the 8th since its renaming to MotoAmerica. Jake Gagne entered the season as the defending champion, after taking his first title in 2021. His teammate for the 2021 season, Josh Herrin, left Attack Yamaha and joined Wahorse HSBK Racing NYC to campaign the Ducati Panigale V2 in the Supersport class under the newly adopted FIM Next-Generation Supersport regulations. Attack Yamaha replaced Herrin by recruiting Cameron Petersen away from Team M4 ECSTAR Suzuki. MotoAmerica
MotoAmerica is the organization that promotes the AMA Superbike Series since 2015. Sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), it features six classes of road racing: Superbike, Stock 1000, Supersport, Twins Cup, Junior Cup, and Mini Cup. MotoAmerica's primary goal is to reinvigorate motorcycle road racing in North America and ultimately send its riders to the top-level international championships: MotoGP and World Superbike. Barber Motorsports Park is an multi-purpose racing facility located in Birmingham, Alabama. It was built by George W. Barber, and includes the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum. Pittsburgh International Race Complex (commonly known as Pitt Race) is an auto racing road course located in Wampum, Pennsylvania. Pitt Race hosts amateur and professional automobile, motorcycle, and karting events. The track Pittsburgh International Race Complex offers three track configurations.
