2022 Military Bowl
The 2022 Military Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 28, 2022, at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The 13th annual Military Bowl featured UCF from the American Athletic Conference and Duke from the Atlantic Coast Conference. The game began at 2:00 p.m. EST and was aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 FBS football season. Sponsored by technology company Peraton, the game was officially known as the Military Bowl presented by Peraton. Teams This was the first time that Duke and UCF have ever played each other. Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is an open-air stadium located off the campus of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Opened in 1959, it serves as the home stadium of the Navy Midshipmen college football and lacrosse teams, and was the home of the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse. The stadium is also the host of the Military Bowl. The stadium's opener was a 29–2 win over William & Mary on September 26, 1959, and its current seating capacity is 34,000. The attendance record is 38,792, set in 2017 during Navy's 48–45 defeat of Air Force on Prior to 1959, Navy played its home games at Thompson Stadium, which seated only 12,000. 2022 UCF Knights Football Team
The 2022 UCF Knights football team represented the University of Central Florida (UCF) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Knights were led by second-year head coach Gus Malzahn and played their home games at the newly named FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, Florida. They competed as members of the American Athletic Conference. In September 2021, UCF and fellow AAC members Cincinnati and Houston accepted bids to join the Big 12. The schools were contractually required to remain with the AAC until 2024, however, indications were that all parties involved preferred to leave in 2023. In June 2022 they reached a deal to depart the conference in 2023, thus the 2022 season will be the program's last season as a member of the AAC. RJ Harvey
Robert "RJ" Harvey Jr. is an American football running back for the UCF Knights. He previously played for the Virginia Cavaliers. Early life and high school Harvey was born in Orlando, Florida. He began playing football at age five. He attended Edgewater High School in Orlando and played three varsity football seasons as a dual-threat quarterback. Although the team lost every game in his sophomore year, he helped them rebound with a 9–3 record and district championship the following season. As a senior, Harvey threw for 42 touchdowns and 1,815 passing yards and ran for 1,350 yards and 22 scores as the team reached the state playoffs with a 12–2 record. He also maintained a 4.3 grade-point average (GPA) off the field. John Rhys Plumlee
John Rhys Plumlee (born January 2, 2001) is an American football quarterback for the UCF Knights. He formerly played for Ole Miss and was a center fielder for the Ole Miss baseball team. Early life and high school Plumlee grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and attended Oak Grove High School, where he played baseball and football. He became the Warriors starting quarterback as a sophomore. As a junior, he passed for 1,759 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions and rushed for 599 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games and was named to the "Dandy Dozen" by ''The Clarion-Ledger''. In baseball, he batted .442 with 35 RBIs and 38 runs scored in 27 games. Rated a four star recruit, Plumlee initially committed to play college football at Georgia during the summer going into his senior year over offers from Auburn, Alabama, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Nebraska, Southern Miss, Tulane, Troy, South Alabama and Mississippi State.
