2022 Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes
The 2022 Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes was a Belgian road cycling one-day race that took place on 24 April 2022. It was the 6th edition of Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes and the 10th event of the 2022 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won for the second time by Dutch rider Annemiek van Vleuten. Route With a route similar to the previous editions of the race, the race started in Bastogne and finished in Liège. At , the race was approximately half the distance of the men's event. It started in Bastogne, from where it headed north to finish in Liège on the same location as the men's race. The route featured seven categorised climbs: the Côte de Mont-Le-Soie, Côte de Wanne, Côte de la Haute-Levée, Col de Rosier, Côte de Desnié, Côte de La Redoute and Côte de la Roche aux Faucons. 2022 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2022 UCI Women's World Tour is a competition that includes twenty-five road cycling events throughout the 2022 women's cycling season. It is the seventh edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition will begin with Strade Bianche on 5 March, and finishes with the Tour de Romandie Féminin on 9 October. Events The race calendar for the 2022 season was announced in June 2021, with twenty-four races initially scheduled – up from eighteen that were held in 2021. Amanda Spratt (born 17 September 1987) is an Australian road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Spratt was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2012, 2016 and 2020 she won the Australian National Road Race Championships in Buninyong, Victoria. Katarzyna "Kasia" Niewiadoma (born 29 September 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Among her wins are the Amstel Gold Race, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the stage race The Women's Tour. She is a former national champion in both the road race and time trial events. Career Born in Friedrichshafen, Lippert started her career in local club ''RSV Seerose Friedrichshafen'' in 2008. 2021 European Floods
In July 2021, several European countries were affected by severe floods. Some were catastrophic, causing deaths and widespread damage. The floods started in the United Kingdom as flash floods causing some property damage and inconvenience. Later floods affected several river basins across Europe including Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
