2022 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
The 2022 Lambeth London Borough Council election is due to take place on 5 May 2022. All 63 members of Lambeth London Borough Council will be elected. The elections will take place alongside local elections in the other London boroughs and elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom. In the previous election in 2018, the Labour Party maintained its control of the council, winning 57 out of the 63 seats with the Green Party forming the principal opposition with five of the remaining six seats. The 2022 election will take place under new election boundaries, with the number of councillors remaining the same. Claire Holland (Lambeth Councillor)
Claire Holland is a British woman who disappeared from a pub in Bristol, England on 6 June 2012. As of 2023, no trace of her has been found. Disappearance Holland, a 32-year-old woman from Lawrence Weston, vanished after leaving the Seamus O'Donnell's pub in Bristol city centre just after closing time at 23:15 on 6 June 2012. This was the day after the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend. She was reported missing a few days later. Holland was the mother of four children. Investigation In 2021, Avon and Somerset Police announced that they believed her disappearance was "linked to a crime" and were treating it as suspicious. A 37-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder in 2019, but was released after an investigation. A major search for her body in 2021 failed to find her. Oval Ward
Oval is an area in south London, in the London Borough of Lambeth. It is part of Kennington near The Oval cricket ground, situated 2.1 miles (3.38 km) to the south-east of Charing Cross. Oval straddles the border of south-west London and south-east London, and is where the postcode SE11 converges with the postcodes SW8 and SW9. Oval is within the borough constituency of Vauxhall. The Member of Parliament for the area is Florence Eshalomi of the Labour Party. History The land here was, from the seventeenth century, used for a market garden. Sadiq Khan
Sadiq Aman Khan (; born 8 October 1970) is a British politician serving as Mayor of London since 2016. He was previously Member of Parliament (MP) for Tooting from 2005 until 2016. A member of the Labour Party, Khan is on the party's soft left and has been ideologically characterised as a social democrat. Born in Tooting, South London, to a working-class British Pakistani family, Khan earned a law degree from the University of North London. The mayor of London is the chief executive of the Greater London Authority. Thornton ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, United Kingdom. The ward comprises the communities of Clapham Park and the Hyde Farm Estate. The ward shares the borough's western boundary with Wandsworth along Cavendish Road and Emmanuel Road alongside Tooting Bec Common. The south eastern boundary then continues along Emmanuel Road and New Park Road to the A205 South Circular Road. The boundaries of northern part of the ward follow the boundaries of the Clapham Park estate east of Kings Avenue and then cross to run down Clarence Avenue and Poynders Road. Coldharbour ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth. It is located in Brixton. Demographics Coldharbour has a large population compared to other wards (17,200). It has a young age profile, with a high proportion of children aged 0–15. It is also the poorest ward in the borough. It has the highest proportion of people from ethnic minorities, and a high proportion of people not born in UK. 4.8% of Coldharbour residents speak an African language as their first language, and 4% speak Portuguese. 2014 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
The 2014 Lambeth Council election was held on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Lambeth Council in Greater London, England. This was on the same day as other local elections. The election saw the Labour Party further increase its majority on the council, winning all but four of the 63 council seats. Notably, the Liberal Democrats lost all 15 of their seats, but one of their seats in Bishop's ward was lost by under 35 votes. The Liberal Democrats finished as the runners up in 4 wards, the Conservatives in 8, the Greens in 6, Labour in 2 and UKIP in 1.
