2022 LNBP Season
The 2022 LNBP season is the 22nd season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP), the top level basketball league of Mexico. The season began on July 12 and ended on October 28, 2022 with Abejas de León got the championship sweep of 4–0 series win over Astros de Jalisco, giving Abejas their 1st Title. This season features 10 teams. The format was changed since last season, since an overall table was used to determine the 8 teams that qualify for the playoffs (instead of using the East and West Districts). Fuerza Regia de Monterrey were the defending champions but got eliminated in the Zone Molten Semifinal by Mineros de Zacatecas. Teams Correcaminos UAT Victoria and Mineros de Zacatecas returned to the league. Panteras de Aguascalientes and Leñadores de Durango opted out of the season. Liga Nacional De Baloncesto Profesional
The National Professional Basketball League ( or LNBP) is the top professional basketball league in Mexico. The league was founded in 2000 with 10 teams. Despite its short history, the LNBP has established itself as the one of the most important basketball leagues in Latin America. Famous basketball players who have played in the league include Jamario Moon, Dennis Rodman, Sun Mingming, Horacio Llamas and many others. History Foundation In January 2000, some teams of CIMEBA (Circuito Mexicano de Básquetbol), the national basketball league in Mexico at the time, exited the league, citing CIMEBA's financial difficulties, and decided to form a new league. On March 11, 2000 the league was founded in the city of Durango with 11 teams participating. Xalapa-EnrÃquez
Xalapa or Jalapa (, ), officially Xalapa-EnrÃquez (), is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz and the name of the surrounding municipality. Halcones de Xalapa is a basketball club based in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico that plays in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP). Their home games were played at Gimnasio Universitario de la Unidad Deportiva. Former Michigan star and NBA player, Robert Traylor Robert DeShaun "Tractor" Traylor (February 1, 1977 – May 11, 2011) was an American professional basketball player. Gimnasio Manuel Bernardo Aguirre is an indoor arena in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. It is primarily used for basketball and it's the home arena of the Dorados de Chihuahua of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP). It has also hosted Professional Bull Riders, World Wrestling Entertainment, and concert events. It was inaugurated on 2 October 1980 and has a capacity of 10,530 people.
