2022 Kawasaki Frontale Season
The 2022 season was Kawasaki Frontale's 18th consecutive season in the J1 League. They competed in the AFC Champions League, Emperor's Cup, J.League Cup, and the Japanese Super Cup. No major trophies were won by Frontale, however, their season performance at the J1 qualified them to the 2023-24 AFC Champions League, in which they qualified straight into the group stage. Toru Oniki
is a Japanese football manager and former player. He is currently manager of Kawasaki Frontale. Playing career Oniki was born in Funabashi on April 20, 1974. After graduating from high school, he joined Kashima Antlers in 1993. He played as mainly defensive midfielder. However he could not become a regular player behind Jorginho and Yasuto Honda. In 1998, he moved to Japan Football League club Kawasaki Frontale on loan. He played as regular player and the club won the 2nd place. In 1999, although he returned to Antlers, he could not play many matches. In 2000, he moved to newly promoted J1 League club, Kawasaki Frontale again. Yasuto Wakizaka
is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Kawasaki Frontale and the Japan national team. Ryota Oshima
is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Kawasaki Frontale. International career Oshima was a member of the Japan U-23 national team squad which got qualification to 2016 Summer Olympics by winning the AFC U-23 Championship.
