2022 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier
The 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier is an international women's cricket tournament that is scheduled to be held in 2022. It will be the fifth edition of the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier and will serve as the qualification tournament for the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. The top two teams from the qualifier tournament will progress to the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa. Qualification In December 2020 the ICC confirmed the qualification process for the tournament, with 37 teams scheduled to take part across five regional groups. The two teams at the bottom of the ICC Women's T20I Rankings on 30 November 2021, of those who competed at the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia, entered the Qualifier. Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) is the shortest form of women's international cricket. A women's Twenty20 International is a 20 overs-per-side cricket match between two of the International Cricket Council (ICC) members. The first Twenty20 International match was held in August 2004 between England and New Zealand, six months before the first Twenty20 International match was played between two men's teams. The ICC Women's World Twenty20, the highest-level event in the format, was first held in 2009. In April 2018, the ICC granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup
The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to be the eighth edition of ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It is scheduled to be held in South Africa, from 10 to 26 February 2023. Australia are the defending champions. In November 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the tournament had been moved from its original slot at the end of 2022 to February 2023 due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. ICC Women's ODI And T20I Rankings
The ICC Women's Rankings were launched on 1 October 2015 covering all three formats of women's cricket. The ranking system gives equal weight to results of Test, ODI, and T20 matches. It was designed by statistician and ICC Cricket Committee member David Kendix and utilizes the same methodology as men's cricket rankings. Each team scores points based on the results of their matches over the last 3−4 years − all matches played in the 12-24 months since the first of October before last, plus all the matches played in the 24 months before that, for which the matches played and points earned both count half. The Scotland women's national cricket team, nicknamed the Wildcats, represents Scotland in international women's cricket. The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was played in Botswana in September 2021.
