The 2022 Four Days of Dunkirk (French: ''Quatre Jours de Dunkerque 2022'') was the 66th edition of the Four Days of Dunkirk cycling stage race. It started on 3 May in Dunkirk and ended on 8 May again in Dunkirk. 2022 UCI ProSeries ...
The 2022 UCI ProSeries is the third season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The original calendar consisted of 56 events, of which 30 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 26 are stage races (2.Pro). Béthune
Béthune ( ; archaic and ''Bethwyn'' historically in English) is a city in northern France, sub-prefecture of the Pas-de-Calais department. Geography Béthune is located in the former province of Artois. It is situated south-east of Calais, west of Lille, and north of Paris. Landmarks Béthune is a town rich in architectural heritage and history. It has, among other features, a large paved square with shops, cafés, and a (133 steps) belfry standing in the center from the top of which the Belgian border can be seen. Gerben Thijssen (born 21 June 1998) is a Belgian Road bicycle racing, road and Track cycling, track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Thijssen won the bronze medal at the 2015 UCI Juniors Track World Championships in the points race. He won the silver medal at the 2016–17 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Apeldoorn in the team pursuit. In 2016, as a junior he won 2 stages in the Nations Cup Trofeo Karlsberg, the Omloop van de Vlaamse Gewesten and a Belgian Cup stage in Nederhasselt. He represented Belgium at the UCI Juniors Road World Championships in Qatar. In 2017, as a U23-rider he won the Grote Prijs Stad Sint-Niklaas and a stage in Olympia's Tour. Ardres
Ardres (; vls, Aarden, lang; pcd, Arde) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in northern France. Geography Ardres is located 10.1 mi by rail (station is at Pont-d'Ardres, a few km from Ardres) S.S.E. of Calais, with which it is also connected by a canal (with limited turning space). Cassel, Nord
Cassel (; nl, Kassel) is a Communes of France, commune in the Nord (French department), Nord Departments of France, départment in northern France. Built on a prominent hill overlooking French Flanders, the town has existed since Roman Empire, Roman times. Aire-sur-la-Lys (, literally ''Aire on the Lys''; vls, Ariën-aan-de-Leie) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in northern France. Geography The commune is located 16 kilometres (10 mi) southeast of Saint-Omer, at the junction of the N43 with several departmental roads, by the banks of the Leie ( French: ''Lys'') and the Laquette rivers. Mazingarbe
Mazingarbe (; pcd, Mazingarpe) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. History The village was known as Masengarba in 1046, Masengarbe in 1232 and Mazengarbe in 1558. Mazingarbe's first inhabitants, as far as can be ascertained, were Neolithic farmers who grew grain and raised sheep, pigs and oxen. Many flint tools have been found dating from this period. Other archaeological excavations have unearthed pottery, clay tiles, tools, jewelry and bones, evidence of occupation of the site at the beginning of the first millennium of a Gallo-Roman villa at a place called Le Marais Bray. In 1046 the village was mentioned as the villa Mazengarba confirmed as a possession of the abbey of Marchiennes.
