2022 FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup
The 2022 FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup will be the 26th season of the FIBA Africa Women's Clubs Champions Cup, the top tier basketball league for women's teams in Africa. The tournament began on December 9 and will end on December 17, 2022, and will be entirely hosted in the Eduardo Mondlane University Gym in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. It is the third time Maputo hosts the league after 2016 and 2018. The league returns after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sporting Alexandria won their first continental title, after beating Costa do Sol in the finals, becoming the first Egyptian team to win the competition. Hagar, of uncertain origin; ar, هَاجَر, Hājar; grc, Ἁγάρ, Hagár; la, Agar is a biblical woman. Kenya Ports Authority, commonly known as KPA, is a basketball club based in Mombasa, Kenya. Owned by the Kenya Ports Authority corporation, the team has competed in the KBF Premier League since first qualifying in 2008. Cierra Janay Dillard (born May 8, 1996) is an American-Senegalese professional basketball player who currently plays for Alexandria Sporting Club. College career Dillard attended Gates Chili High School in Rochester, New York. She was named the All-Greater Rochester Girls Basketball Player of the Decade 2010–19. She later attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst for two years, before transferring to the University at Buffalo. At both universities, she played on the school's respective women's basketball teams. Clube Ferroviário de Maputo is a basketball club based in Maputo, Mozambique. The team competes in the Mozambican League. In the Mozambican League, Maputo has won eleven national titles.
