2022 FAI Cup
The 2022 FAI Cup is the 102nd edition of the Republic of Ireland's primary national cup competition. This edition features teams from the League of Ireland Premier Division and the First Division, as well as non-league teams. The competition began with qualifying on the week ending 22 April 2022. The winners of the FAI Cup earns automatic qualification for the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League. Teams The FAI Cup is a knockout competition with 38 teams taking part. The competitors consist of the 19 teams from the Football League system (20 teams from the Premier Division and 9 from the First Division) plus 19 teams from the regional leagues (levels 3–7 of the Republic of Ireland football league system). Aviva Stadium
Aviva Stadium (also known as Lansdowne Road) is a sports stadium located in Dublin, Ireland, with a capacity for 51,700 spectators (all seated). It is built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007, and replaced it as home to its chief tenants: the Irish rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland football team. The decision to redevelop the stadium came after plans for both Stadium Ireland and Eircom Park fell through. Aviva Group Ireland signed a 10-year deal for the naming rights in 2009. Dundalk ( ; ga, Dún Dealgan ), meaning "the fort of Dealgan", is the county town (the administrative centre) of County Louth, Ireland. The town is on the Castletown River, which flows into Dundalk Bay on the east coast of Ireland. It is halfway between Dublin and Belfast, close to the border with Northern Ireland. Ulster Senior League (association Football)
The Ulster Senior League is an association football league featuring amateur, intermediate, and League of Ireland reserve teams. Together with the Leinster Senior League Senior Division and the Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division, it forms the third level of the Republic of Ireland football league system. Ulster Senior League teams also compete in the FAI Cup and the FAI Intermediate Cup. The winners of the Ulster Senior League have also been invited to play in the League of Ireland Cup. Despite using the Ulster name in its title, almost all of its clubs are based in County Donegal and the City of Derry. The League of Ireland ( ga, Sraith na hÉireann), together with the Football Association of Ireland, is one of the two main governing bodies responsible for organising association football in the Republic of Ireland. The term was originally used to refer to a single division league. Salthill Devon Football Club is an Irish association football club originally based in Salthill, Galway. Their senior team currently plays in the Galway & District League. Carrigaline United Association Football Club is an Irish association football (soccer) club based in Carrigaline, County Cork. As of 2022, the club's men's team plays in the Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division. History The club was founded in 1972, and originally played at the Pottery Field, today the site of the Carrigaline Court Hotel. They moved to Ballea Park in 1985. Salthill () is a seaside area in the City of Galway in the west of Ireland. Lying within the townland of Lenaboy (''an Léana Buí''), it attracts many tourists all year round. There is a 2 km long promenade, locally known as ''the Prom'', overlooking Galway Bay with bars, restaurants and hotels.
