2022 Dutch Open (darts)
The 2022 Dutch Open (officially referred to as the 2022 TOTO Dutch Open Darts) was the 49th edition of the Dutch Open organised by the World Darts Federation. The tournament was held at the De Bonte Wever in Assen, Netherlands. Tournament has been awarded Platinum ranking status, with a total prize fund €27,650. Ross Montgomery who won the previous men's tournament was absent from the event, having switched to the Professional Darts Corporation in January 2022. Aileen de Graaf as three-time champion was defending women's title, but she lost in quarter-finals to later finalist Rhian O'Sullivan. Jelle Klaasen became the new champion. This is his first victory in the World Darts Federation tournament since the victory at 2006 BDO World Darts Championship. Beau Greaves won the women's tournament. De Bonte Wever
De Bonte Wever (formerly De Smelt) is a sports arena located in Assen, Netherlands. De venue opened in the 1970s with a 400-meter speed skating track. Rhian O'Sullivan
Rhian O'Sullivan (née Edwards; 20 January 1981) is a Welsh female professional darts player who plays in events of the World Darts Federation (WDF). Darts career O'Sullivan was a quarter finalist in the 2009 Women's World Masters. She qualified for her first BDO Women's World Championship in 2010. She defeated fellow Welshwoman Julie Gore 2–0 in the quarter-finals, and Karen Lawman 2–0 in the semi-finals. In the final, she was beaten 2–0 by Trina Gulliver. In 2011, she again reached the World Championship final after victories over Gore in the quarter-finals and Deta Hedman in the semi-finals. She was beaten 2–0 by Gulliver for the second final in a row. In 2012, O'Sullivan was defeated in the first round by top seed and eventual runner-up Hedman. Dominik Kočik
Dominik Kočik (born 22 June 2009) is a Slovak steel-tip and soft-tip darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events. He is a multiple soft-tip and steel-tip Slovak Youth Darts Champion and also the winner of the Dutch Open for younger boys. Dominik is the first slovak youth dart player in history, who qualified and was holder of JDC Advanced Tour Card. Career Dominik Kočik was a multiple winner of the youth's regional masters tournaments at the soft-tip and steel darts. Beau Greaves
Beau Greaves (born 9 January 2004) is an English darts player who currently plays in the World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. She is the current World Darts Federation women's world champion, having won the 2022 WDF World Darts Championship. She is also a WDF Europe Cup Champion. Career Early career Greaves started playing regularly in tournaments and league games at the age of 10, having been introduced to darts by her brother Taylor. She made her stage debut at the girls' 2014 Winmau World Masters and lost in the final to Robyn Byrne. 2006 BDO World Darts Championship
The 2006 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship was held from 7 to 15 January 2006 at the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, Surrey. Defending champion Raymond van Barneveld was aiming to win a fifth BDO world title, equalling the record set by Eric Bristow. However, he was beaten 7–5 in the final by Dutch qualifier Jelle Klaasen; the final was the first and only World Darts Championship final to not feature a British player. Klaasen became the youngest World Champion at age 21 and became the first qualifier to win the World Championship since Keith Deller in 1983, who became the youngest World Champion himself, aged 23. This would eventually be Van Barneveld's last appearance at the Lakeside as he would switch to the rival Professional Darts Corporation the next month. Jelle Klaasen
Jelle Klaasen (born 17 October 1984), nicknamed The Cobra, is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and World Darts Federation (WDF) events. In 2006, he became the youngest darts player to win the World Darts Championship, aged 21 at the time. He also is a Dutch Open champion. Since November 2022, he has been the leader of the World Darts Federation men's ranking. Aileen de Graaf (born 25 April 1990) is a Dutch darts player playing in events of the World Darts Federation (WDF). She is member of the Dutch national team.
