2022 College World Series
The 2022 NCAA Men's College World Series was the final stage of the 2022 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was scheduled from June 17–27 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, but ended on June 26. This marked the 75th edition of the College World Series and 72nd time the event was held in Omaha. The NCAA has since changed the title of this story to "2022 Division I men's College World Series format change announced", reflecting its current use of the word "Men's" in conjunction with this event. The tournament featured eight teams in two double elimination brackets with the two winners meeting in a best-of-three championship series. Ole Miss Rebels Baseball
The Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represents the University of Mississippi in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team participates in the West Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They are currently coached by Mike Bianco and play at Swayze Field. They have competed in the College World Series six times, with their first national championship coming in 2022. History The University of Mississippi has games recorded as early as 1893. What is commonly referred to as the "modern era" is considered to have started in 1947. 2002 College World Series
The 2002 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 2002 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. The tournament concluded with eight teams competing in the College World Series, a double-elimination tournament in its fifty sixth year. Sixteen regional competitions were held to determine the participants in the final event, with each winner advancing to a best of three series against another regional champion for the right to play in the College World Series. The 2021 College World Series was the final stage of the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament held from June 19–30 at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. This marked the 74th edition of the College World Series and 71st time the event is being held in Omaha, Nebraska after the 2020 tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. 2022 Texas Longhorns Baseball Team
The 2022 Texas Longhorns baseball team represented the University of Texas at Austin during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Longhorns played their home games at UFCU Disch–Falk Field as a member of the Big 12 Conference. They were led by head coach David Pierce, in his 6th season at Texas. Previous season Regular season The Longhorns finished the 2021 season with a 50–17 record and a 17–7 record in conference play where they were crowned Big 12 Regular season co-champions for the 9th time alongside TCU. Jim Schlossnagle
Jim Schlossnagle (born August 12, 1970) is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the Texas A&M Aggies. He played college baseball at Elon from 1986 to 1989 for head coach Rick Jones. He then served as the head coach of the UNLV Rebels (2002–2003) and the TCU Horned Frogs (2004–2021). Schlossnagle has been named a National Coach of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in 2010 and by Baseball America in 2016, and he has won 8 conference Coach of the Year awards in his 16-year head coaching career. Early life and career Schlossnagle grew up in Smithsburg, Maryland, and attended Smithsburg schools. The 1994 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1994 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. 1951 College World Series
The College World Series was the fifth NCAA-sanctioned baseball tournament that determined a national champion. The tournament was held as the conclusion of the 1951 NCAA baseball season and was played at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska from June 13 to June 17.
