2022 Chevrolet Silverado 250
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 250 was the 21st stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the second race of the Round of 8, and the 17th iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in Lincoln, Alabama at Talladega Superspeedway, a permanent tri-oval shaped superspeedway. The race was increased from 94 laps to 95 laps, due to a NASCAR overtime finish. In a wild finish that sparked controversy, Matt DiBenedetto, driving for Rackley WAR, would steal the win after the caution came out on the final lap. This was DiBenedetto's first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win, and the first of his career. International Speedway Corporation
International Speedway Corporation (ISC) was a corporation whose primary business is the ownership and management of motorsports race tracks. ISC was founded by NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. in 1953 for the construction of Daytona International Speedway and in 1999 they merged with Penske Motorsports to become one of the largest motorsports companies in North America. The company has played an important, though controversial, role in the modernization of the sport. Tri-oval
A tri-oval is a shape which derives its name from the two other shapes it most resembles, a triangle and an oval. Rather than meeting at sharp, definable angles as the sides of a triangle do, in a tri-oval these angles are instead rounded into smooth curves. While an oval has four turns, a tri-oval has six. More formally, according to the four-vertex theorem, every smooth simple closed curve has at least four vertices, points where its curvature reaches a local minimum or maximum. Anniston Air Force Base
Anniston Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force airfield located approximately 10 miles north-northeast of Talladega, Alabama. It was active from 1942 to 1945 and 1949 to 1952. It is currently the site of the Talladega Superspeedway and Talladega Municipal Airport. Parker Retzlaff (born May 21, 2003) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro for Jordan Anderson Racing. Jordan L. Anderson (born April 15, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 3 Chevrolet Silverado for his team Jordan Anderson Racing. Racing career Anderson began racing in karts as an eight-year-old. He raced in Legends and Late model cars as his career developed.
