2022 Big East Conference Softball Tournament
The 2022 Big East Conference softball tournament will be held at Cacciatore Stadium on the campus of the DePaul University in Rosemont, Illinois. The tournament will run May 12 through May 14, 2022 and will determine the champion for the Big East Conference for the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The tournament champion will earn the Big East Conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament. The semifinals and finals will be broadcast on Fox Sports 2. Format and seeding The top four teams from the conference's round-robin regular season will qualify for the tournament, and will be seeded one through four. They will play a double-elimination tournament. The DePaul Blue Demons are the athletic teams that represent DePaul University, located in Chicago, Illinois. The Blue Demons participate in NCAA Division I and are a member of the Big East Conference. DePaul’s Athletic Director is DeWayne Peevy. DePaul was not affiliated with any conference until it helped establish the Great Midwest Conference in 1991. Big East Conference
The Big East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that competes in NCAA Division I in ten men's sports and twelve women's sports. Headquartered in New York City, the eleven full-member schools are primarily located in Northeast and Midwest metropolitan areas. 2022 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 20 through June 9, 2022, as the final part of the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The tournament culminated with the 2022 Women's College World Series at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Format A total of 64 teams entered the tournament, with 32 of them receiving an automatic bid by either winning their conference's tournament or by finishing in first place in their conference. The remaining 32 bids were issued at-large, with selections extended by the NCAA Selection Committee. 2022 UConn Huskies Softball Team
The 2022 UConn Huskies softball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The Huskies were led by Laura Valentino in her 3rd year as head coach, and play as part of the Big East Conference after joining the conference for the 2020–21 academic year. They played their home games at the newly rebuilt Connecticut Softball Stadium. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Softball Championship, NCAA Division I softball tournament.
