2022 Barcelona W Series Round
The 2022 W Series Barcelona round was the second round of eight in the 2022 W Series, and took place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain on 21st May 2022. The event was an undercard to the 2022 Formula One World Championship round at the same circuit. Report Background For the first of two events in 2022, the Tatuus–Toyota FT-60 chassis and engine combination would be used instead of the usual Tatuus–Alfa Romeo F3 T-318 car due to logistical hurdles related to the tight turnarounds between events. Jamie Chadwick led the drivers' championship on 50 points, 27 points ahead of Nerea Martí. Jenner Racing led the teams' championship on 51 points, 10 points ahead of the Quantfury W Series Team. 2022 W Series
The 2022 W Series was the third season of the W Series motor racing championship. The championship was exclusively open to female racing drivers as a Formula Regional-level racing series in support of the 2022 Formula One World Championship. Jamie Chadwick became a three time champion following the cancellation of the remainder of the season on 10 October 2022. Entries The following drivers and teams competed in the 2022 W Series season. All teams used Hankook tyres, and ran two mechanically-identical Tatuus–Alfa Romeo F3 T-318 cars with two drivers. The rounds at Barcelona and Singapore used Tatuus–Toyota FT-60 cars loaned by Toyota Racing Series organiser Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand. Beitske Visser (born 10 March 1995) is a Dutch racing driver. She has raced in kart, single-seater, GT and prototype series. Career Karting Born in Dronten, Visser began karting in 2007 and raced in various European and International championships, working her way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the KZ1 category by 2011, when she finished in tenth position in the CIK-FIA European KZ1 Championship. Emely de Heus (born 10 February 2003) is a Dutch racing driver competing in the 2022 W Series. Personal life De Heus was born in Mijnsheerenland, Netherlands. Her father is Bert de Heus, a veteran amateur driver in the 24H Series endurance racing championship. Her family own and operate De Heus Tractors, based in Mijnsheerenland. is a Japanese racing driver who most recently competed in the 2022 W Series. She is the daughter of former Formula 1 driver Hideki Noda. Early and personal life Juju Noda was born on 2 February 2006. Tereza Bábíčková (born 26 March 2003) is a Czech racing driver. She made her debut in W Series in 2022. Career Bábíčková was born on 26 March 2003 in Vracov, Czech Republic. From the age of three, she competed in gymnastics. Fabienne Wohlwend (born 7 November 1997 in Vaduz) is a female racing driver from Liechtenstein who competes in the W Series. Biography Formula 4 Wohlwend entered car racing in 2016, having been successful in junior karting in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. She debuted in the Italian F4 Championship with Aragón Racing, before a mid-season switch to DR Formula. Sarah Moore (born 22 October 1993) is a British racing driver. She won the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2009 and competed in the InterSteps Championship in 2011.
