2022 Balochistan Local Government Elections
The 2022 Balochistan local government elections were held in 32 districts of Balochistan, Pakistan on 29 May 2022. Independent candidates won the most the seats, while 1584 candidates were elected unopposed. According to the results, 98 candidates of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), 71 of Balochistan Awami Party, 39 of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) and 37 of Balochistan National Party have won. Besides, National Party and PPP have won 26 seats, Tehreek-e-Insaf 7 seats and Pak Sarzamin Party (PSP) 5 seats. 2015 Balochistan Local Government Elections
The 2015 Balochistan local government elections were held in the Pakistani province of Balochistan on 29 May 2015. The elections were held for the first time in the province after the passage of the Balochistan Local Government Act 2013. The elections were contested by a total of 1,260 candidates, including 620 men and 640 women. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) emerged as the largest party in the elections, winning 280 seats. The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) won 250 seats, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won 170 seats, and the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) won 100 seats. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F)
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (Fazl) also Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) or simply as Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Urdu: ; ; JUI-F) is a Deobandi Sunni political party in Pakistan. Established as the ''Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam'' in 1945, it is the result of a factional split in 1988, ''F'' standing for the name of its leader, Fazal-ur-Rehman. It is almost entirely based in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan, which are mostly inhabited by Pashtuns. The JUI-S faction, led by Samiul Haq, is of regional significance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but has no representation on the national level. The split of JUI into two factions was due to dissent over the policy of Pakistani president Zia-ul-Haq of supporting Mujahideen outfits in the Afghanistan war during the 1980s. Balochistan Awami Party
The Balochistan Awami Party ( ur, , lit=Balochistan People's Party) is a political party based in the Balochistan province of Pakistan founded in 2018 by political dissidents of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) in Balochistan. The party emerged as the largest party in Balochistan as a result of the 2018 Pakistani general election. Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party
The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (; ), abbreviated as PMAP or PKMAP, is a political party in Pakistan's Balochistan province. It was founded by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, who was elected as the chairman, and Sher Ali Bacha, who served as the General Secretary, in March 1989 in Quetta. The party was a coalition partner of the PML-N in the Balochistan government following the 2013 elections and stood by the pmln during some of the latter's most challenging times in government. Ideology PkMAP has opposed the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and has been widely criticized for the position. Its chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai has previously suggested that FATA should be governed either by a governor or a council that should be elected through adult franchise. Pakistan is a federal republic with three tiers of government: national, provincial and local. Local government is protected by the constitution in Articles 32 and 140-A, and each province also has its own local-government-enabling legislation and ministries responsible for implementation. District councils and metropolitan corporations are respectively the highest rural and urban tiers of local government in the provinces. Both urban and rural local government have two or three tiers in all provinces except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where councils are not identified as either urban or rural.
