2022 Austrian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2022 Austrian motorcycle Grand Prix (officially known as the CryptoData Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich) was the thirteenth round of the 2022 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season and the fifth round of the 2022 MotoE World Cup. All races (except MotoE race 1 which was held on 20 August) were held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Styria, Spielberg on 21 August 2022. Background Track layout changes The Grand Prix used a new layout of the Red Bull Ring, wherein a chicane was added to the previous fast slight-left hander of turn 2. This was done to improve the overall safety of the track by greatly minimizing the speed the riders carry into turn 3. The new variation to the circuit follows safety reviews into the high speed accident on lap 9 of the 2020 Austrian motorcycle Grand Prix, 2020 Austrian Grand Prix. The Red Bull Ring is a motorsport race track in Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The race circuit was founded as Österreichring (translation: Austrian Circuit) and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from to . It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring (A Eins-Ring), and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from to . When Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. David Muñoz Rodríguez (born 15 May 2006) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer, currently competing for Boé Motorsports in the Moto3 World Championship. Career Early career In 2018, Muñoz participated in the European Talent Cup, where in two seasons he obtains three podiums including a win at MotorLand Aragón. In 2020, he entered the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, his first season ended with three podium finishes and the following year, seven more were added, including two victories. These results in his second year lead him to finish third in the drivers' standings. Stefan Bradl
Stefan Bradl (born 29 November 1989) is a German professional motorcycle racer. Bradl is best known for winning the Moto2 World Champion. Then he made the move to MotoGP in 2012 with LCR Honda. While in MotoGP, Bradl is best known for his performance at Laguna Seca getting the pole position and finishing second in the race behind Marc Marquez, ahead of Valentino Rossi. Bradl finished the 2013 season 7th, despite missing two races due to injury. This proved to be his highest ever MotoGP finish. Bradl is the son of former racer Helmut Bradl. The 2020 Austrian motorcycle Grand Prix was the fifth round of the 2020 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season and the fourth round of the 2020 MotoGP World Championship. It was held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on 16 August 2020. The 2022 MotoE World Cup (known officially as the 2022 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup for sponsorship reasons) will be the fourth season of the MotoE World Cup for electric motorcycle racing, and is part of the 74th F.I.M. 2022 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 2022 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 74th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Fabio Quartararo came into the season as the defending World Champion.
