2022 All-Ireland Under-20 Football Championship
The 2022 All-Ireland Under-20 Football Championship was the fifth staging of the All-Ireland Under-20 Football Championship, All-Ireland Under-20 Championship and the 59th staging overall of a Gaelic football championship for players between the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, minor and All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, senior grades. The championship began on 25 March and ended on 14 May 2022. Offaly county football team, Offaly were the 2021 All-Ireland Under-20 Football Championship, defending champions, however they were beaten by Kildare county football team, Kildare in the Leinster semi-final. The final took place on 14 May 2022, between Kildare and Tyrone county football team, Tyrone. Tyrone won the match by 1–20 to 1–14 to win their sixth title and their first since 2015 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship, 2015. Markievicz Park ( ga, Páirc Marcievicz) is the principal GAA stadium in County Sligo, Ireland, home to the Sligo Gaelic football and hurling teams. Built in 1955 in Sligo town (due mostly to Seán Forde who single-handedly gathered the funds necessary to build the stadium), it is named after Constance Markievicz, one of the participants of the 1916 Easter Rising, the first woman elected to Dáil Éireann and the first female elected to the British parliament, although she refused to take up her seat there. Carrick-on-Shannon () is the county town of County Leitrim in Ireland. It is the largest town in the county of Leitrim. A smaller part of the town lies in County Roscommon. Bekan, County Mayo
Bekan or Becan () is a village in County Mayo, Ireland. Because of the almost entirely rural population, it is traditionally a farming community. The village is off the R323 road between Knock and Ballyhaunis. The local school is St. Joseph's National School. The Connacht Gaelic Athletic Association Centre of Excellence was built outside the village in December 2012. Sport Eastern Gaels is the local Gaelic Football club, which represents both Bekan and Brickeens. The Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence is the major sporting facility in the area. The centre is just outside the village. The centre has a 3G pitch, five floodlit Gaelic games pitches, and a gymnasium.
