2022 Alaska Senate Election
The 2022 Alaska Senate elections took place on November 8, 2022, with the primary elections being held on August 16, 2022. State senators serve four-year terms in the Alaska Senate, with half of the seats normally up for election every two years. However, because most districts were greatly changed in 2020 United States redistricting cycle, redistricting, elections were held for 19 of the 20 seats. The only exception is District T, represented by Democrat Donny Olson, which was mostly unchanged in redistricting and thus did not have an election. Some senators were elected to serve four-year terms, while others would serve shortened two-year terms. Following 2020 Alaska Senate election, the previous election in 2020, Alaska Republican Party, Republicans had control of the Alaska Senate with 13 seats to Alaska Democratic Party, Democrats' 7 seats. Alaska Senate
The Alaska State Senate is the upper house in the Alaska Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Alaska. It convenes in the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau, Alaska and is responsible for making laws and confirming or rejecting gubernatorial appointments to the state cabinet, commissions and boards. With just twenty members, the Alaska Senate is the smallest state legislative chamber in the United States. Its members serve four-year terms and each represent an equal number of districts with populations of approximately 35,512 people, per 2010 Census figures. They are not subject to term limits. An independent or non-partisan politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or bureaucratic association. Mia Costello
Mia C. Costello (born January 11, 1968) is a Republican member of the Alaska Senate from District K. She previously served from 2011 to 2015 in the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 20th District. In November 2010, Costello defeated Democratic incumbent Bob Buch to win her House seat. Costello received 3,696 votes to Buch's 2,873. Josh Revak
Joshua Carl Revak (born January 21, 1981) is an American politician who has served as a member of the Alaska Senate since November 2, 2019. Originally elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 2018, Revak was appointed to the Senate to replace Chris Birch, whom he replaced in the House, when Birch died suddenly in August 2019.
