2021–22 Tennessee Volunteers Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Tennessee Volunteers basketball team represented the University of Tennessee during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team is led by seventh-year head coach Rick Barnes, and plays their home games at Thompson–Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 27–8, 14–4 in SEC play to finish in a tie for second place. As the No. 2 seed in the SEC tournament, they defeated Mississippi State, Kentucky and Texas A&M to win their first SEC Tournament title since 1979. They received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 3 seed in the South Region, where they defeated Longwood in the First Round before being upset by Michigan in the Second Round. 2020–21 Alabama Crimson Tide Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team represented the University of Alabama in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by second-year head coach Nate Oats. They played their home games at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as a member of the Southeastern Conference. The Crimson Tide won the regular season Southeastern Conference Championship, marking the team's first championship since 2002. They also won the SEC tournament, their first win in that competition since 1991 and the first time since 1987 that the program won both the regular season and tournament. Yves Pons (born 7 May 1999) is a Haitian-born French professional basketball player for ASVEL of the LNB Pro A and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers. Early life and career Pons was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and spent three and a half years with his biological mom. He was born in Port-au-Prince, which is the capital, but his hometown was Cité Soleil. It’s one of the biggest areas in Haiti and is also the poorest part of Haiti. His mom, by law, had to send him to the orphanage because she couldn’t take care of him, and he was pretty sick at the time. After close to a year in the orphanage, Yves was taken in by his adopted parents, Babeth and Jean-Claude Pons, who lived in France. The South Florida Bulls men's basketball team represents the University of South Florida in NCAA Division I basketball competition, where they are currently a member of the American Athletic Conference. Hastings, Florida
Hastings is an unincorporated community and agricultural center in St. Johns County, Florida, United States, southwest of St. Augustine. It was formerly an incorporated town, but it was dissolved in 2018 after a vote by residents. The population was 580 at the 2010 census. Donald Andrew Pember (born June 14, 2000) is an American college basketball player for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs of the Big South Conference. He previously played for the Tennessee Volunteers. Early life and high school career Pember grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended Bearden High School. As a junior, he averaged 10 points, seven rebounds, three blocks, and 2.7 assists per game and was named All-District 4-AAA. Pember was rated a three-star recruit and committed to playing college basketball for Tennessee over offers from Davidson, Mercer, and Florida Atlantic.
