2021–22 Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Syracuse Orange men's basketball team represented Syracuse University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Orange were led by 46th-year head coach Jim Boeheim and played their home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York as ninth-year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Orange finished the season 16–17 overall and 9–11 in ACC play to finish in ninth place. As the ninth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated eighth seed Florida State in the Second Round before losing to first seed Duke in the Quarterfinals. They were not invited to the NCAA tournament or the NIT. Previous season The Orange finished the 2020–21 season 18–10, 9–7 in ACC play, to finish in eight place. Jim Boeheim
James Arthur Boeheim Jr. ( ; born November 17, 1944) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach of the Syracuse Orange men's team of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Boeheim has guided the Orange to ten Big East Conference regular season championships, five Big East tournament championships, and 34 NCAA tournament appearances, including five Final Four appearances and three appearances in the national title game. In those games, the Orangemen lost to Indiana in 1987 on a last-second jump shot by Keith Smart, and to Kentucky in 1996, before defeating Kansas in 2003 with All-American Carmelo Anthony. Boeheim is currently the winningest active head coach in Division I Men's Basketball. 2021 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 ACC men's basketball tournament (officially the 2021 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament Presented by New York Life) was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Atlantic Coast Conference and held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, from March 9 to 13, 2021. It was the 68th annual edition of the tournament. The 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament was originally scheduled to be hosted at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was moved to the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on November 24, 2020. Capital One Arena will host the tournament in 2024. Virginia and Duke elected to withdraw from the tournament due to some of their players testing positive for COVID-19. Oregon Ducks Men's Basketball
The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is an intercollegiate basketball program that competes in the NCAA Division I and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference, representing the University of Oregon. The Ducks play their home games at Matthew Knight Arena, which has a capacity of 12,364. Then coached by Howard Hobson, Oregon won the first NCAA men's basketball national championship in 1939. Quincy Guerrier (born May 13, 1999) is a Canadian college basketball player for the Oregon Ducks men's basketball, Oregon Ducks of the Pac-12 Conference. He previously played for the Syracuse Orange men's basketball, Syracuse Orange. Early life and career Guerrier played association football, soccer and street hockey before focusing on basketball. He attended Thetford Academy in Thetford Mines, Thetford Mines, Quebec for five years, turning down offers from larger schools. Ossining is a town located along the Hudson River in Westchester County, New York. The population was 40,061 at the time of the 2020 census. Alan Griffin (born April 14, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Newfoundland Growlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The 2020–21 Houston Cougars men's basketball team represented the University of Houston during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars were led by seventh-year head coach Kelvin Sampson as members of the American Athletic Conference. It was the third season that the team played its home games at the Fertitta Center. They won their first ever AAC tournament to clinch an auto-bid to the NCAA tournament, where they were selected as a #2 seed in the Midwest Region. The 2020–21 San Diego State Aztecs men's basketball team represented San Diego State University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
