2021–22 St. Louis Blues Season
The 2021–22 St. Louis Blues season was the 55th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established in 1967. On April 16, 2022, the Blues clinched a playoff spot after a 6–5 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild. The Blues set a franchise record with a 16-game point scoring streak from April 1–24. The Blues upset the Minnesota Wild in six games in the First Round, but lost to the Stanley Cup-winning Colorado Avalanche in six games in the Second Round. Central Division (NHL)
The NHL's Central Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. Its predecessor was the Norris Division and its also one of two successors to the Northwest Division. The Chicago Blackhawks have been a member of the Central Division in all of its seasons since the original 1993 realignment. The Arizona Coyotes (as the original Winnipeg Jets), Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues were also original members of the division, but were realigned to a different division for a while before returning; both the Coyotes and Stars were moved to the Pacific Division in 1998 (the Stars moved back to the Central in 2013, and the Coyotes followed in 2021), while the Blues were moved to the West Division during the temporary 2021 realignment. The 2021–22 Carolina Hurricanes season was the 43rd season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established in June 1979, and 24th season since the franchise relocated from the Hartford Whalers to start the 1997–98 NHL season. On April 9, 2022, the Hurricanes clinched a playoff berth after a 5–3 win against the Buffalo Sabres. The 2021–22 Nashville Predators season was the 24th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997. John Hynes entered his third season and second full season as head coach of the team. The Predators opened the season at home on October 14, 2021, against the NHL's expansion team, the Seattle Kraken. The Predators lost the game 4–3, giving the Kraken the franchise's first-ever win. On April 26, 2022, the Predators clinched a playoff berth after the Dallas Stars defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in a shootout. The 2021–22 Winnipeg Jets season was the 23rd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997, and the 11th in Winnipeg, since the franchise relocated from Atlanta prior to the start of the 2011–12 NHL season. After spending the 2020–21 season in the all-Canadian North Division, the Jets returned to the Central Division for the 2021–22 season. The 2021–22 Anaheim Ducks season was the 29th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 15, 1993. On November 9, 2021, former general manager Bob Murray was placed on administrative leave by the Ducks pending the results of an ongoing investigation. Joel Hofer
Joel Hofer (born July 30, 2000) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Springfield Thunderbirds in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 107th overall, in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2021 with the Blues. Playing career Hofer played major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Swift Current Broncos and the Portland Winterhawks. Following his selection by the St. Louis Blues in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft he was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract on March 22, 2019. The 2021–22 Arizona Coyotes season was the 43rd season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 22, 1979, the 26th season since the franchise relocated from Winnipeg following the 1995–96 NHL season, and the 50th overall season, including the World Hockey Association years. The Coyotes returned to the Central Division for the 2021–22 season.
