2021–22 St. Bonaventure Bonnies Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team represented St. Bonaventure University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bonnies, led by 15th-year head coach Mark Schmidt, played their home games at the Reilly Center in Olean, New York as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 23–10, 12–5 in A-10 play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the A-10 tournament to Saint Louis. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Colorado, Oklahoma, and Virginia to advance to the semifinals. There they lost to Xavier. Mark Schmidt
Mark Schmidt (born February 12, 1963) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach at St. Bonaventure University. He took the job at the start of the 2007–08 season after holding the same position at Robert Morris University for six seasons (2001–2007), compiling a record of 82–90. Prior to becoming the head coach at Robert Morris, he served as an assistant coach at Xavier University under Skip Prosser from 1994 to 2001. During the 2008–09 season, he led St. Bonaventure to a 15–15 record, and an appearance in the Atlantic 10 postseason tournament, the school's first since 2005. Schmidt has led the Bonnies to Atlantic 10 Tournament Championships in 2012 and 2021 in addition to Atlantic 10 regular season championships in 2016 and 2021. 2020–21 Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2020–21 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball season is the 45th season of Atlantic 10 Conference basketball. The season began with practices in November 2020, followed by the start of the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in late November, delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. League play will begin in early January and end in early March. The 2021 Atlantic 10 tournament was originally scheduled to be held from March 10–14, 2021, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, but due to ongoing impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was moved to campus locations. The tournament was first scheduled to be played on the same dates but split between the Robins Center at the University of Richmond and the Siegel Center at VCU, but the schedule was later adjusted so that the first four rounds will be played from March 3 to March 6 at those arenas with the championship game to be held March 14 at UD Arena at the University of Dayton. Christopher Charles Lowe Jr. (born July 17, 1987) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg in Austria. He played college basketball at the University of Massachusetts. The UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's basketball team, or UTRGV Vaqueros, represents the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas, United States.
