2021–22 Solomon Islands S-League
The 2021–22 Telekom S-League was the 18th season of the Telekom S-League, the top association football, football league in the Solomon Islands. It ended on 21st November 2021. Many games take place at the 22,000-capacity Lawson Tama Stadium. The league started on 5 June 2021. Teams Twelve teams play the 2021 season, an increase from nine in the 2019–2020 season. Telekom S-League
The Telekom S-League, commonly known as just the Solomon Islands S-League or more simply the S-League for sponsorship reasons, is a semi professional league and the top division of the Solomon Islands Football Federation. It was known as the Solomon Islands National Club Championship from 2000 until 2010, when the official name was changed. Format In the current format, all teams compete in a round robin, where the team that ends at the first place are crowned champions. Together with the second-placed team, they qualify for the OFC Champions League. The bottom team is then relegated to the Second Division, while the best performing team from that league is promoted to this league. Solomon Islands S-League Seasons
Solomon (; , ),, ; ar, سُلَيْمَان, ', , ; el, Σολομών, ; la, Salomon also called Jedidiah ( Hebrew: , Modern: , Tiberian: ''Yăḏīḏăyāh'', "beloved of Yah"), was a monarch of ancient Israel and the son and successor of David, according to the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament. Benjamin Totori
Benjamin Totori (born 20 February 1986) is a Solomon Islands footballer who plays as a striker for Kossa. Club career A small but speedy striker, Totori made his name at NZFC side YoungHeart Manawatu before moving to Richmond Athletic and then onto Waitakere United in 2007. In 2008, he moved abroad signing with the Portland Timbers in the United States after impressing New Zealand-born coach Gavin Wilkinson. Totori returned to Waitakere United after injury cut short his career in the USA. He joined Koloale FC Honiara in October 2010 after another successful spell in New Zealand. He immediately ended up top goalscorer in the Telekom S-league, netting 23 goals in only 19 matches. On 19 June 2012 it was announced Totori had signed a one-year deal with Hyundai A-League club Wellington Phoenix. On 14 June 2013, Totori and Wellington Phoenix mutually decided to terminate his contract, allowing him to join the Oakleigh Cannons for the remainder of the 2013 season. Raphael Lea'i
Raphael Ohanua Lea'i Jr. (born 9 September 2003) is a Solomon Islands professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bosnian Premier League club Velež Mostar and the Solomon Islands national team. He is the first Solomon Islands player to play in Europe. Early life Lea'i was born on 9 September 2003 in Honiara. Taking up futsal at the age of 12, he played for local side Kossa before moving to Marist. Club career Following promising performances at international level, Lea'i was noticed by foreign clubs, including Argentine Primera División club Deportivo Godoy Cruz and Australian A-League side Brisbane Roar. Both clubs offered him a trial, however due to FIFA regulations on youth footballers, he was unable to sign an overseas professional contract before the age of 18.
