2021–22 Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series
The 2021–22 Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Nepal from 28 March to 4 April 2022. The participating teams were the hosts Nepal along with Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. The matches were played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. On 12 March 2022, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed all the fixtures. Before the tri-nation series, Nepal played two One Day International (ODI) matches against Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea won both of the matches, winning by six runs in the first ODI and three wickets in the second ODI. In the tri-nation series, Nepal became the first team to qualify for the final, after they won their first three matches. Papua New Guinea joined Nepal in the final of the tri-series, after Malaysia lost heavily to Nepal in the final round-robin match. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Aarif Sheikh ( ne, आरिफ शेख्) (born 5 October 1997) is a Nepalese cricketer, who was the vice-captain of the Nepal national under-19 cricket team, and currently plays for the senior team.
