2021–22 Missouri Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season and were led by head coach Cuonzo Martin, who was in his fifth year at Missouri. The team played its home games at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri as a tenth-year members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 12–21, 5–13 in 2021–22 Southeastern Conference men's basketball season, SEC play to finish in 12th place. They defeated 2021–22 Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team, Ole Miss in the first round of the 2022 SEC men's basketball tournament, SEC tournament before losing to 2021–22 LSU Tigers men's basketball team, LSU in the second round. On March 11, 2022, the school fired head coach Cuonzo Martin. On March 22, the school named Cleveland State Vikings men's basketball, Cleveland State head coach Dennis Gates the team's new head coach. Cuonzo Martin
Cuonzo LaMar Martin (born September 23, 1971) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the former head coach of the Missouri Tigers men's basketball team. High school Playing alongside LaPhonso Ellis as a sophomore and junior, Martin played on two state championship teams for Lincoln High in his native East St. Louis, Illinois. Through his 3 years in the IHSA tournament, Martin scored 198 points and grabbed 111 rebounds in 12 games. In 2007, Martin and Ellis were voted among the "100 Legends of the IHSA Boys Basketball Tournament," recognizing their superior performance in their appearances in the tournament. College career Cuonzo Martin attended Purdue University, where he played for Gene Keady and alongside Wooden Award winner Glenn Robinson. 2021 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 Southeastern Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Southeastern Conference at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, which took place March 10–14, 2021. Seeds On November 22, 2020, Auburn announced a self-imposed, one year postseason ban due to former assistant coach Chuck Person's involvement in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball corruption scandal. As a result, the #11 seed in the tournament was awarded a first-round bye, leaving the #12 seed–#13 seed game as the only game to be played on March 10. Dru Smith
Dru Smith (born December 30, 1997) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Evansville Purple Aces and the Missouri Tigers. High school career Smith attended FJ Reitz High School in Evansville, Indiana. In his junior season he averaged 10.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as a starting point guard alongside Jaelan Sanford and Alex Stein. Smith helped his team achieve a 29–2 record and reach the Class 4A state title game. The Norrköping Dolphins are a professional basketball club from Norrköping, Sweden. It plays in the Basketligan, the highest league in Sweden and won the league six times. Home games of Norrköping are played at the Stadium Arena. History The club was established as Hageby BK ( sv, Hageby Basketklubb) on May 8, 1963, by Åke Björck. Its name was taken from the Hageby district in Norrköping. The men's team made its debut in the Swedish first tier in 1964–65 but were relegated after only one year.
