2021–22 Long Beach State Beach Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Long Beach State Beach men's basketball team represented California State University, Long Beach in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Beach were led by 15th-year head coach Dan Monson and played their home games at the Walter Pyramid as members of the Big West Conference. They finished the regular season 20–12, 12–3 in Big West play to win the regular season championship, the school's first since 2012–13 Long Beach State 49ers men's basketball team, 2013 and fourth overall under Monson. They defeated 2021–22 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners men's basketball team, Cal State Bakersfield and 2021–22 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's basketball team, UC Santa Barbara to advance to the championship game of the 2022 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament, Big West tournament where they lost to 2021–22 Cal State Fullerton Titans men's basketball team, Cal State Fullerton. Dan Monson
Daniel Lloyd Monson (born October 6, 1961) is an American college basketball coach serving as the head coach at Long Beach State since April 2007. Previously he was head coach at Minnesota for over seven seasons (1999–2006), reaching postseason play five times. Before coaching the Gophers, he was the head coach at Gonzaga for two seasons, leading the Zags on an improbable run to the Elite Eight during his last season. Early years Monson is the son of college basketball coach Don Monson, and spent most of his early years in eastern Washington, where his father was a successful high school head coach in Cheney and Pasco for 18 seasons. At age 14, the family moved from Pasco to East Lansing, Michigan, where Don was an assistant coach for Jud Heathcote at Michigan State for two seasons. Mainland High School
Mainland High School is a public high school located in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. It is attended by 1,979 students of grades nine through twelve. The mascot is a Buccaneer and strongly resembles the old logo of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. History Daytona Public School The original school was known as Daytona Public School, and was not a permanent structure. Originally started in 1872 as a school for all grades, the school started off in a log cabin, moved several times, and then finally settled in the wood-frame building pictured on the right in 1874.
