2021–22 FC Midtjylland Season
The 2021–22 season was FC Midtjylland's 23rd season of existence, and their 21st consecutive season in the Danish Superliga, the top tier of football in Denmark. As a result of the club's runner-up finish in 2020–21, it competed in the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League, and subsequently in the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League and the 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League. The Black Wolves completed a successful 2021–22 campaign with a second-place finish in the Superliga, again qualifying for the Champions League, and also captured its second Danish Cup, after defeating OB in the final on penalties. FC Midtjylland
FC Midtjylland (, "Central Jutland") is a Danish professional football club based in Herning and Ikast in the western part of Jutland. The club is the result of a merger between Ikast FS and Herning Fremad. Midtjylland competes in the Danish Superliga, which they have won three times, most recently in 2020. Club history FC Midtjylland was founded by Johnny Rune, a carpenter and owner of a private business in the wood-supply industry, and Steen Hessel, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. The two men wanted to unite the football clubs Ikast FS (founded 1935) and Herning Fremad (founded 1918) – clubs that for decades had been strong rivals, but had never played any significant role in Danish football. FC Nordsjælland
Football Club Nordsjælland, commonly known as FC Nordsjælland, Nordsjælland () or FCN, is a professional Danish football team from the North Zealand town of Farum. Founded as ''Farum Boldklub'' from the merger of the town's two football clubs Farum IK and Stavnsholt BK in 1991, the club changed its name to FC Nordsjælland in 2003. FCN plays in the Danish Superliga, winning its first medal in the 2002–03 season, taking third place. Since then, the ''Wild Tigers'' have made four appearances in Europe under both the old UEFA Cup format in 2003–04, 2008–09 and in the UEFA Europa League during the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons. Mads Døhr Thychosen (; born 27 June 1997) is a Danish footballer, who plays as a right-back for AIK. Youth career Thychosen started playing football when he was two and a half years old in the amateur club Vinding SF. Then, when he was 11 years old, he transferred to Vejle Boldklub, and played there until he was 13, when he moved back to Vinding. One year later, he went back to Vejle at the age of 14. He was one of the biggest talents ever in Vejle, and played with the youth team of Arsenal at the Ferolli Cup. After that, he trained with them once again in December 2013. Henrik Dalsgaard
Henrik Dalsgaard (born 27 July 1989) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland. Dalsgaard began his professional career in his homeland with AaB, with whom he won the Danish league and cup double in the 2013–14 season. Bollklubben Häcken, more commonly known as BK Häcken or simply Häcken (), is a Swedish professional association football, football club based in Gothenburg. Joel Andersson
Eric Joel Andersson (born 11 November 1996) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays for Danish Superliga club Midtjylland as a right-back. Club career A native of Gothenburg, Andersson started playing football with Västra Frölunda IF. At the age of 15, he also made some appearances for the first team, who at the time were competing in the fourth-tier Division 2. In 2013, Andersson moved to BK Häcken, another team in the Gothenburg area, but the first two years he spent in the youth academy. Daniel Mathias Høegh (; born 6 January 1991) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Randers FC. Høegh formerly played for SC Heerenveen, FC Basel and Odense Boldklub. Homegrown Player Rule (UEFA)
The Homegrown Player Rule is a rule for UEFA competitions that was first introduced in 2006–07 season and fully enforced beginning in the 2008–09 season. On top of a maximum 25 players for List A, clubs had to designate a minimum 8 players that were trained by clubs from the same national league, with 4 of them being from the club's own youth system.
