2021–22 Colchester United F.C. Season
The 2021–22 season is Colchester United's 85th season in their history and their sixth successive season competing in League Two. Along with competing in League Two, the club also participated in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. Season overview Pre-season Colchester's place in League Two for the 2021–22 season was confirmed on 1 May 2021 in their penultimate game of the season following a 1–0 win against Salford City. On 13 May, following the close of the 2020–21 season having led the U's to safety, Mullins was named permanent head coach of Colchester United. The club announced the retained list for the 2021–22 season on 14 May. Colchester United F
Colchester ( ) is a city in Essex, in the East of England. It had a population of 122,000 in 2011. The demonym is Colcestrian. Colchester occupies the site of Camulodunum, the first major city in Roman Britain and its first capital. Colchester therefore claims to be Britain's first city. It has been an important military base since the Roman era, with Colchester Garrison currently housing the 16th Air Assault Brigade. Situated on the River Colne, Colchester is northeast of London. EFL Trophy
The English Football League Trophy, known for sponsorship purposes as the Papa Johns Trophy after restaurant chain Papa John's Pizza, is an annual English association football knockout competition open to all clubs in EFL League One and EFL League Two, with the addition of 16 under-21 teams from Premier League and EFL Championship clubs since the 2016–17 season. It is the 3rd most prestigious knockout competition in English football after the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. Thomas William Cavendish Lapslie (born 5 October 1995) is an English professional association football, footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Torquay United F.C., Torquay United. Callum Kyle Harriott (born 4 March 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Yeovil Town. He is a product of the Charlton Athletic academy. Born in England, he represents the Guyana national football team internationally. Paris Declan Joseph Cowan-Hall (born 5 October 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward and winger. Having started his career as a youngster at Portsmouth, he went on to play in the Football League for Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United, Plymouth Argyle, Wycombe Wanderers, Millwall, Bristol Rovers and Colchester United. Jevani Jason Brown (born 16 October 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Exeter City. Born in England, he has represented Jamaica internationally at youth level, and has been called up at the senior level. Club career Early career Brown started his career at Milton Keynes Dons and joined Peterborough United at a young age, and quickly impressed within their youth ranks. Brown became a regular for the Peterborough youth sides and was rewarded with promotion to the first-team squad ahead of the 2013–14 campaign. Joshua Raymond Bohui (born 3 March 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward. Bohui is a product of the Brentford and Manchester United academies and began his senior career in the Netherlands with NAC Breda. Following a spell with EFL club Colchester United, he dropped into non-League football in 2021. He was capped by England at U17 level. Michael Kwaku Foli Folivi (born 25 February 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Enfield Town. Club career Folivi signed his first professional contract with Watford in 2015 whilst still in the club's youth system and completed his scholarship in summer 2016. Ben Stevenson (footballer)
Ben Edward Stevenson (born 23 March 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Portsmouth. Stevenson is a graduate of the Coventry City Academy. He spent 13 years with the club, joining at the age of eight. He made his professional debut in August 2016 and made 48 appearances for the club. Tom Eastman
Thomas Michael Eastman (born 21 October 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Harrogate Town on loan from club Colchester United. Eastman is a product of the Ipswich Town Academy, where he progressed through the ranks since the age of eight before making his first-team debut in 2010, a match in which he was sent off for a second bookable offence. After finding his chances with Ipswich limited, he moved to Colchester United in the summer of 2011. William David Cracknell (born 19 January 2002) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Bishop's Stortford.
