Japanese Music
In Japan, music includes a wide array of distinct genres, both traditional and modern. The word for "music" in Japanese is 音楽 (''ongaku''), combining the kanji 音 ''on'' (sound) with the kanji 楽 ''gaku'' (music, comfort). Japan is the world's largest market for music on physical media and the second-largest overall music market, with a retail value of US$2.7 billion in 2017. is Japanese singer and songwriter under Being label. Biography Under the influence of her father, Shiori grew up listening to various music genres such as rock, punk and blues. In elementary school she learned to play on piano, in junior high school she formed band and played on electronic guitar. After finishing high school, she started fully took guitar and vocal lessons. She performed street lives in Shinjuku and Ohmiya. Noriyuki Makihara
, nicknamed by his fans, is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter. He has sold a total of 21 million copies in Japan alone. Biography Makihara was born on 18 May 1969 in Takatsuki, Osaka, Japan. He attended Aoyama Gakuin University to study English literature. In addition to creating songs for his own music career, he has written, produced and performed songs for many other artists, the most notable being SMAP's ''Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana''. is a Japanese popular musician, singer-songwriter and actor. Life and career Son of mid-twentieth century film star Ken Uehara,and actress Yoko Kozakura, ( ja) Kayama graduated from Keio University. Yuzo Kayama signed with Toho and made his film debut with ''Otoko tai Otoko'' directed by Senkichi Taniguchi in 1960. He was cast in the leading role in the 1960 film ''Dokuritsu Gurentai Nishie'' directed by Kihachi Okamoto. Kayama rose to stardom in the 1960s in the '' Wakadaishō'' ("Young Guy") film series. Fullkawa Honpo
, is a Japanese musician, who began releasing Vocaloid music under the name in 2009. After self-releasing Vocaloid music and self-cover extended plays using his own voice, he debuted under independent label Balloom using the name Fullkawa Honpo in 2011. Biography Fullkawa Honpo is from Osaka Prefecture, Japan. When he was 14, he joined his first band, a Visual-kei band specialising in metal. He joined a guitar rock group at university, and after finishing university decided to continue to be a musician, having difficulties finding other types of work. He continued with that band, and the group moved to Tokyo for their CD debut. However, when Fullkawa Honpo was in his mid 20s, the band split before they managed to debut, and he remained in Tokyo to work as a designer. TM Network
TM Network is a Japanese rock/new wave/pop musical band, made up by Tetsuya Komuro (keyboardist), Takashi Utsunomiya (vocalist) and Naoto Kine (guitarist). They became popular in Japan as the "futuristic pop songs with synthesizer" after the release of their 1987 single "Get Wild" Tetsuya Komuro became a famous producer of dance-oriented J-pop singers in 1990s, and as such they are considered a prototype of the J-pop genre. However, their 2000 album ''Major Turn-Round'' was influenced by progressive rock. , stylized NIRGILIS, is a Japanese electronic rock band formed in 1993 by Moyo Satake and Kōki Itō. Acchu Iwata, Minoru Kurihara, and Yuki Inadera joined in 1995. Funky Monkey Babys
is a Japanese band formed in 2004 under the record company Dreamusic Incorporated. Their music is mostly hip hop, but is also inspired by pop and rock music. All members in the group are from Hachiōji, Tokyo. They are known for featuring celebrities in their promotion videos and singles jackets. The band is also known as Fan-mon (ファンモン) in short. Ajico was a band, formed as a side project by Japanese singer Ua, and Kenichi Asai of Blankey Jet City Blankey Jet City was a Japanese rock trio from Aichi Prefecture, active from 1987 to 2000.
