2021 S5000 Tasman Series
The 2021 S5000 Tasman Series, known by its sponsored identity the Shannons S5000 Tasman Series, was the 13th season of the revived Tasman Series that was last held in 1975, and the first Tasman Series using S5000 machinery and therefore the S5000 moniker. It was held in late November and early December of 2021. Aaron Cameron, driving for Garry Rogers Motorsport, claimed the Tasman Cup, first awarded in 1964. Aaron Cameron
Aaron Cameron (born 27 January 2000) is an Australian racing driver, competing in the TCR Australia Series in the No. 18 Peugeot 308 TCR for Team Valvoline GRM. Early career Cameron's racing career began in karting in his home state of Victoria, with his breakthrough season coming aged 14 in 2014, as he won various state-level junior titles. In 2015, as well as moving up to the national level, he competed in selected races in Europe, including the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals and the KF-Junior category of the Karting World Championship. The 2021 S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship, known by its sponsored identity the VHT S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship, was the inaugural season of the Australian S5000 Championship, run after a series of exhibition races in 2019. The series was sanctioned by Motorsport Australia (MA) and promoted by the Australian Racing Group as part of the 2020 and 2021 Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Series. The season was held over 4 rounds, it began in January at Symmons Plains Raceway and ended in May at Sydney Motorsport Park. Joey Mawson won the Australian Drivers' Championship (MA Gold Star) title. Mount Panorama Circuit is a motor racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on Mount Panorama (Wahluu) and is best known as the home of the Bathurst 1000 motor race held each October, and the Bathurst 12 Hour event held each February. The track is a long street circuit, which is used as a public road when no racing events are being run, with many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit. The track has an unusual design by modern standards, with a vertical difference between its highest and lowest points, and grades as steep as 1:6.13. Sydney Motorsport Park (known until May 2012 as Eastern Creek International Raceway) is a motorsport circuit located on Brabham Drive, Eastern Creek (40-kilometres west of the Sydney CBD), New South Wales, Australia, adjacent to the Western Sydney International Dragway. It was built and is owned by the New South Wales Government and is operated by the Australian Racing Drivers Club.
