2021 Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup Final
The 2021 Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup, also known as the 2021 PDRL World Cup, was the first world cup for physical disability rugby league. The tournament was held from 23 October to 30 October 2022 in Warrington, England, alongside the main tournaments of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. The tournament was originally planned as part of the 2021 Festival of World Cups, which was due to take place in the summer of 2021, but was rescheduled following the postponement of the festival. England defeated New Zealand 42–10 in the final to become the first world champions. Third place went to Wales who defeated Australia 32–18 in a play-off. Latchford, Cheshire
Latchford is a suburb and electoral ward of Warrington, Cheshire, England. It is around one mile south-east of Warrington town centre and has a total resident population of 7,856. Latchford is a predominantly residential area, Latchford lies between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal, and broadly consists of 19th-century terraced housing and some open space. Physical Disability Rugby League
Physical disability rugby league is a modified version of rugby league football catered to suit people of various physical disabilities. History Physical disability rugby league was created by the NSW Physical Disability Rugby League and founded by George Tonna in 2010. The PDRLNZ of New Zealand was founded in 2015. The first international PDRL matches were played in 2018. Australia, New Zealand, and the Commonwealth All Stars competed as part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games exhibition tournament in February 2018. Australia and New Zealand played a three-match series in October 2018, alongside the 2018 Emerging Nations Tournament. PDRL was first played in England in February 2018 with a match between the Warrington Wolves and the Leeds Rhinos, the latter winning 22–10. ''The Last Leg'' (known during its first series as ''The Last Leg with Adam Hills'' and in Australia as ''Adam Hills: The Last Leg'') is a British comedy and late-night television talk/sketch show that originally ran alongside the 2012 Summer Paralympics every night following the main coverage on Channel 4. The Halliwell Jones Stadium is a rugby league stadium in Warrington, England, which is the home ground of the Warrington Wolves. Shaun Briscoe
Shaun Briscoe (born 23 February 1983) is an English former professional rugby league footballer. An England international representative outside back, he has played club football for the Wigan Warriors, Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, and the Widnes Vikings. Is currently the head coach of the world champion England Physical Disability Rugby League team. Club career Wigan Warriors Briscoe was born in Higher End, in the Wigan area, and grew up in nearby Hindley, and attended Winstanley College. He started his rugby career at Wigan playing for the Academy side before making his first team début for Wigan against Castleford in 2002. The New Zealand physical disability national rugby league team represent New Zealand in international physical disability rugby league competitions throughout Asia-Pacific and the World. At the 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championship the team finished second in the Physical Disability tournament after a draw in the final against Australia. Adam Christopher Hills (born 10 July 1970) is an Australian comedian, radio and television presenter.
