2021 Nordic Golf League
The 2021 Nordic Golf League was the 23rd season of the Nordic Golf League (NGL), one of four third-tier tours recognised by the European Tour. The season started with events in Spain. The schedule was subject to change and several tournaments were cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2021 season. Christopher Feldborg Nielsen
Christopher Feldborg Nielsen (born 15 September 1992) is a Swedish professional golfer. He has five wins on the Nordic Golf League (NGL) and won the 2021 NGL Order of Merit to earn promotion to the Challenge Tour after he shot an albatross on the final hole of the Road to Europe Tour Final. Professional career Feldborg Nielsen was born in Ystad, Sweden. He turned professional in 2012 and started playing on the Swedish Golf Tour. In 2013, he joined the Nordic Golf League, where his best finish was a T4 in the Danish PGA Championship. In 2014, he won his first title, the Bravo Tours Open in Denmark, and he was runner-up in the Danish PGA Championship. He lost the final of the 2014 Swedish Matchplay Championship to Patrick O'Neill of Denmark, but walked away with the National Matchplay Champion title for which other nationals are ineligible. Elis Svärd
Elis Svärd (8 July 1996 – 28 January 2022) was a Swedish professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Svärd was born in Södertälje in 1996 and represented Salem Golf Club. He had success as a junior golfer and won a handful of titles on the Skandia Tour. After he graduated from the Riksidrottsgymnasiet Golf Program at Celsius High School in Uppsala in 2016, Svärd played college golf at California State University, Monterey Bay between 2016 and 2020. The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. Since 1986, the tournament has been open to foreign players. The tournament was part of the Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005. Espen Kofstad
Espen Kofstad (born 11 August 1987) is a Norwegian professional golfer who currently plays on the Challenge Tour. Kofstad was born in Oslo and was educated at Perbraten School. After finishing at the University of Denver, he entered the first stage of the European Tour qualifying school in 2010. At the final stage, he missed qualification for the European Tour by one stroke. He then joined the Challenge Tour in 2011 and finished in 35th on the Tour's Order of Merit in his rookie season. 2021 Challenge Tour
The 2021 Challenge Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments collectively known as the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is Europe's official developmental tour and is organised by the PGA European Tour. It was introduced in 1986 and was originally called the Satellite Tour, before being renamed with its present title in 1990. Similarly to 2020, the season was to begin in February with three tournaments in South Africa co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour, but in mid-January the South African swing was postponed to April–May over COVID-19 pandemic concerns. The official schedule announcement was made on 27 January 2021. In April two back-to-back events in Sweden in May were added. In August, it was announced that the Hainan Open and the Foshan Open; both played in China, were cancelled.
