2021 KNVB Cup Final
The 2021 KNVB Cup Final was a football match between Eredivisie clubs Ajax and Vitesse, that took place on 18 April 2021 at De Kuip, Rotterdam. It was the final match of the 2020–21 KNVB Cup, the 103rd season of the annual Dutch national football cup competition. Ajax won the match 2–1 for a record twentieth title. As winners, they will compete in the 2021 Johan Cruyff Shield and earned a spot in the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League play-off round if they do not qualify for the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League. It was announced in March 2021 that there would be no fans at the match due to the COVID-19 pandemic. De Kuip
Stadion Feijenoord (), more commonly known by its nickname De Kuip (, the Tub), is a stadium in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was completed in 1937. The name is derived from the Feijenoord district in Rotterdam, and from the club with the same name (although the club's name was internationalised to Feyenoord in 1973). The stadium's original capacity was 64,000. In 1949, it was expanded to 69,000, and in 1994 it was converted to a 51,117-seat all-seater. In 1999, a significant amount of restoration and interior work took place at the stadium prior to its use as a venue in the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament, although capacity was largely unaffected. Football Club Utrecht () is a Dutch professional football club based in Utrecht. Devyne Rensch
Devyne Fabian Jairo Rensch (born 18 January 2003) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a right back for Eredivisie club Ajax and the Netherlands national team. Club career Ajax Rensch played in the youth academies of VV Unicum and Ajax. In the 2020–21 pre-season, Rensch, who had not yet made an appearance for Jong Ajax at that time, was given several minutes of play in Ajax's first team. During the regular season he was officially part of the first team, but he played most of his matches for Jong Ajax. Maarten Stekelenburg
Maarten Stekelenburg (; born 22 September 1982) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eredivisie club Ajax. Stekelenburg began his career at Ajax, playing 282 matches over nine seasons in his first spell there and winning nine honours, including two Eredivisie titles. He went on to play for Roma, Fulham, Monaco, Southampton and Everton. He returned to Ajax after the expiry of his contract at Everton following the 2019–20 Premier League season. Behind Closed Doors (sport)
The term "behind closed doors" is used in several sports, to describe matches played where spectators are not allowed in the stadium to watch. The reasons for this may include punishment for a team found guilty of a certain act in the past, stadium safety problems, public health concerns, or to prevent potentially dangerous clashes between rival supporters. In football, it is predicated by articles 7, 12 and 24 of FIFA's disciplinary code. Crowdless games are a rare occurrence in professional sports. When they do occur, it is usually the result of events beyond the control of the teams or fans, such as weather-related concerns, public health concerns, or wider civil disturbances unrelated to the game. Loïs Openda
Ikoma-Loïs Openda (born 16 February 2000) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Ligue 1 club Lens and the Belgium national team. Club career Openda played as a youth for Patro Othee FC and RFC Liège before joining the youth academy of Standard Liège. In 2015, he moved to the academy of Club Brugge, where he made his senior debut on 10 August 2018 in the Belgian Pro League against Kortrijk. Openda replaced Jelle Vossen after 80 minutes.
