2021 Healthy Ageing Tour
The 2021 Healthy Ageing Tour was a women's cycle stage race that was held in the Netherlands from 10 to 12 March 2021. The 2021 edition of the race was the tenth running of the Healthy Ageing Tour, being held with a UCI rating of 2.1. Teams Six UCI Women's WorldTeams, eight UCI Women's Continental Teams, and two UCI Women's National Teams made up the seventeen teams that participated in the race. Only the German national team and did not enter the maximum of six riders, as they each entered five. 94 riders started the race, of which 34 finished. Ellen Van Dijk
Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk (; born 11 February 1987) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. In 2015, she won the time trial at the first European Games and the silver medal in the team time trial at the world championships. Van Dijk started as a speed skater and as part of her skating training she undertook cycling as part of cross-training in summer. She excelled at both, competing nationally at junior level. Alice Barnes
Alice Barnes (born 17 July 1995) is an English racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career Barnes enjoyed success at the UK School Games in Sheffield in 2011, where she not only won the individual mountain bike event, but also rode solo in the relay, beating the fastest of the four-rider teams by several seconds. She joined the British Cycling Olympic Academy Programme in 2013. Barnes was selected for the England team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she finished fifth in the mountain bike race. She also rode at the 2014 UCI Road World Championships. She finished second to Lizzie Armitstead in the elite women's race at the 2015 British National Road Race Championships in Lincoln, becoming national under-23 champion in the process. Jolien D'hoore (born 14 March 1990) is a Belgian former track and road cyclist, who rode professionally between 2007 and 2021 for the , , , and teams. D'hoore is a 29-time national track champion as well as a four-time national road champion at all competition levels. She won the bronze medal in the omnium at the 2016 Olympics and during her career was one of the strongest sprinters in the women's peloton. Wijster
Wijster is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 11 km north of Hoogeveen. History The village was first mentioned in 1206 as in Wisnare. The etymology is unknown. Wijster is an ''esdorp'' which developed in the Early Middle Ages as a satellite of Beilen. It used to have no church, but did have a large funnel shaped ''brink'' (village square). Wijster was home to 300 people in 1840. The Dutch Reformed church dates from 1929 and is a simple church with a little ridge turret. Wijster is best known for its landfill.
