2021 European Dressage Championships
The 2021 FEI European Dressage Championships was held in Hagen, Germany, from 7 to 12 September 2021. Budapest in Hungary was supposed to organise the European Championships but withdrew after the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games to 2021. First, the FEI announced there will be no European Championships for Dressage, but after several riders, trainers, owners and the European Equestrian Federation (EEF) insisted on a European Championship, Hagen volunteered to organise it. The European Championships for show-jumping will be also held in Germany, at the show location of Olympic gold-medalist Ludger Beerbaum in Riesenbeck. The FEI decided to allocate the European Championships for Grand Prix riders under the age of 25 as well to Hagen. It is for the first time since the introduction of this European Championship that this championship will be combined with the Championship for the seniors. Charlotte Dujardin
Charlotte Susan Jane Dujardin (born 13 July 1985) is a British dressage rider, equestrian and writer. A multiple World and Olympic champion, Dujardin has been described as the dominant dressage rider of her era. She held the complete set of available individual elite dressage titles at one point: the individual Olympic freestyle, World freestyle and Grand Prix Special, World Cup individual dressage and European freestyle, and Grand Prix Special titles. Dujardin was the first rider to hold this complete set of titles at the same time. Nanna Merrald Rasmussen (born 8 October 1993) is a Danish dressage rider. She has qualified for the 2014 Dressage World Cup Final in Lyon after finishing 6th in the Western European League rankings. She was forced to withdraw, though, after her horse Millibar failed to pass the veterinary test. Daniel Bachmann Andersen
Daniel Bachmann Andersen (born 1 June 1990) is a Danish equestrian athlete. He competed at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon 2018 and at the European Dressage Championships in 2015 and 2019. Biography Bachmann Andersen started riding at an age of 10 and became involved in dressage after he met Morten Thomsen, a Danish Olympian, who is from the same village as Daniel. Later he trained horses in Germany. After his riding career in Germany, he started working for Andreas Helgstrand. In 2014 he started for Blue Hors where he became successful with horses such as Zack, Don Olymbrio, Zepter, Loxana and Hotline. He became Danish national champion in 2019, fourth during the World Cup Finals in Göteborg and seventh in the individual freestyle during the European Championships in Rotterdam that same year. Carl Hester
Carl Hester (born 29 June 1967 in Cambridgeshire, England) is a British dressage rider competing at Olympic level. As of 8 August 2012 the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) rank him 12th in the world riding Uthopia. In 2012, Hester formed part of the Great Britain Dressage team that won gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Early life and career Hester was raised by his mother and stepfather. He lived on the Channel Island of Sark from the age of four, and was educated at Elizabeth College in Guernsey. His biological father is the actor Tony Smee. Charlotte Fry
Charlotte Fry (born 11 February 1996) is an Olympic, European Championships and World Championships medal-winning British dressage rider. Personal story A daughter of Laura Fry, who competed at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, Charlotte Fry started riding at a young age. Aged 14, she started training with Olympic Champion Carl Hester, having weekly lessons from the age of 16. Hester told former Danish Olympiad Anne van Olst about Fry, after which Fry moved to the Netherlands to train with van Olst.
