2021 Coppa Italia Final
The 2021 Coppa Italia Final decided the winners of the 2020–21 Coppa Italia, the 74th season of Italy's main football cup. It was played on 19 May 2021 for the first time at the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore, Reggio Emilia, between Atalanta and Juventus. Juventus won the match 2–1 for a record fourteenth title. As winners, Juventus would have automatically qualified to the group stage of the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League, although they had already qualified for European competition through their league position. They also earned the right to contest the 2021 Supercoppa Italiana against the champions of the 2020–21 Serie A, Internazionale. Background Atalanta made its fifth appearance in the final, and second in three years. Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore (; with the first half officially written in all caps) is a multi-purpose stadium in Reggio Emilia, Italy. It is currently the home ground of U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, U.S. Sassuolo of Serie A and A.C. Reggiana 1919, A.C. Reggiana of Serie C. The stadium holds 21,525 and was built in 1995, replacing the Stadio Mirabello. It was given the name Stadio Città del Tricolore on 11 March 2012, having previously been called the ''Stadio Giglio''. Marten Elco de Roon (born 29 March 1991) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Atalanta and the Netherlands national team. Remo Marco Freuler (born 15 April 1992) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Nottingham Forest and the Switzerland national team. José Luis Palomino (born 5 January 1990) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Atalanta. The Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A (Italian for ''National Professionals League Serie A''), commonly known as LNPA or Lega Serie A (Serie A League), is the governing body that runs the major professional Association football, football competitions in Italy, most prominently the Serie A.
