2021 Chicago Bears Season
The 2021 season was the Chicago Bears' 102nd season in the National Football League, their 103rd overall, and their fourth and final under head coach Matt Nagy. This was the first season under the NFL's new 17-game schedule. The Bears finished 6–11, failing to improve upon their 8–8 record from the previous year, and failed to return to the playoffs. Nagy along with general manager Ryan Pace were fired on January 10, 2022. NFC North
The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North was previously known as the NFC Central from 1970 to 2001. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were previously members, from 1977, one year after they joined the league as an expansion team, until 2002 when they moved to the NFC South. Justin Fields
Justin Skyler Fields (born March 5, 1999) is an American football quarterback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Following a stint with Georgia, he played college football at Ohio State, where he twice won Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year and reached the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. Fields was selected by the Bears in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, with whom he set the single-game regular season record for quarterback rushing yards. He is also only one of three NFL quarterbacks to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Early years Fields attended Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. Dazz Newsome
Dazz Newsome (born May 15, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Carolina and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Early years Newsome attended Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia. He played wide receiver, running back and cornerback in high school. As a senior he was the '' Daily Press'' Offensive Player of the Year after he had 35 total touchdowns, 1,684 rushing yards and 413 receiving yards. The Virginia Tech Hokies football team represents Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the sport of American football. The Hokies compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They previously competed in the Big East. Their home games are played at Lane Stadium, located in Blacksburg, Virginia with a seating capacity of over 65,000 fans. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. Khalil Herbert
Khalil Herbert (born April 21, 1998) is an American football running back for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Kansas before transferring to Virginia Tech in 2020. Herbert was drafted by the Bears in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Early years Herbert attended American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. As a senior he rushed for 861 yards and nine touchdowns. He committed to the University of Kansas to play college football. College career As a true freshman at Kansas in 2016, Herbert played in eight games with three starts and rushed for 189 yards on 44 carries with three touchdowns. Larry Borom (born March 30, 1999) is an American football offensive tackle for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Missouri and was drafted by the Bears in the fifth round of the 2021, NFL Draft. Early career Borom played at Birmingham Brother Rice where he was nominated 1st team all-Detroit North in 2016. Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right.
