2021 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference. It was played from March 10 to 13, in Kansas City, Missouri at the T-Mobile Center. The winner received the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA tournament. Texas defeated Oklahoma State in the championship to earn their first Big 12 Tournament Championship and third Conference tournament Championship overall. Texas became the first school that was not a member of the Big Eight Conference to win the tournament. Seeds All ten teams participated in the tournament. The top six teams earned a first-round bye. T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center) is a multi-purpose arena in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. It is located at the intersection of 14th Street and Grand Boulevard on the east side of the Power & Light District. 2020–21 West Virginia Mountaineers Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represented West Virginia University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mountaineers were coached by Bob Huggins, in his 14th season as WVU's head coach, and played their home games at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia as members of the Big 12 Conference. The Big 12 men's basketball tournament (known since its inception in 1997 under sponsorship agreements as the Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament) is the championship men's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top six seeds getting byes in the first round. Seeding is based on regular season records. The winner of the tournament receives the Big 12 Conference automatic bid to the NCAA Championship tournament. Between 2005 and 2019, no current Big 12 member besides Iowa State or Kansas won the tournament, and those two schools have won 16 of 24 titles.
