2021 Barcelona Formula 3 Round
The 2021 Barcelona FIA Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 8 and 9 May 2021 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, Catalonia, Spain. It was the first round of the 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and ran in support of the 2021 Spanish Grand Prix. Classification Qualifying The Qualifying session took place on 7 May 2021, with Dennis Hauger scoring his first FIA F3 pole position, six thousandth ahead of fellow Red Bull junior Jack Doohan. Sprint Race 1 On the formation lap the Carlin of Ido Cohen stopped, leading to the start being aborted and one race lap being removed. Cohen was able to start from the pitlane. Edgar had a good start as Smolyar immediately came under pressure from Caio Collet. Oliver "Olli" Caldwell (born 11 June 2002) is a British racing driver who is competing for Alpine in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He is a race winner in the FIA Formula 3, Formula Regional European, Italian F4 and ADAC Formula 4 championships and was a member of the Alpine Academy. Career Karting Caldwell was born in Hampshire, and began karting in 2013 at the age of eleven. FIA Formula 3 Championship
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. It was the result of a merger between two third-tier single-seater racing championships, the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as it was announced on 10 March 2018. The championship is part of the FIA Global Pathway consolidation project plan. HWA Team, also known as HWA RACELAB, is the auto racing team of HWA AG, a German company based in Affalterbach, that also develops and builds vehicles and components for Mercedes-AMG race cars.
