2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship
The 2021 GB3 Championship, known as the 2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship until August 2021, was a Motorsport#Motor racing, motor racing championship for Open-wheel car, open wheel, Formula racing, formula racing cars held across England. The 2021 season was the sixth organised by the British Racing Drivers' Club in the United Kingdom. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers, and also featured the 2-litre 230-bhp Tatuus-Cosworth single seat race car in the main series. The season ran over eight triple- and quadruple-header rounds, it started on 22 May at Oulton Park, Brands Hatch and ended on 17 October at Donington Park. The series was rebranded mid-season from BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. Zak O'Sullivan took the drivers' championship at the final round at Donington Park, as Carlin Motorsport, Carlin took the inaugural teams' championship. BRDC British Formula 3 Championship
The GB3 Championship is a single seater motorsport series based in the United Kingdom. The championship is the UK's premier single-seater category, and is aimed at young racing drivers moving up from FIA Formula 4 championships or Karting. Having previously been known since 2013 as the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, the championship was renamed the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with the backing of the FIA in March 2016. The championship was rebranded to GB3 Championship in August 2021. History On 23 March 2016, the FIA and MSA revealed to the FIA World Motor Sport Council that an agreement had been reached the day prior to rebrand the BRDC Formula 4 Championship in order to reflect the increased pace of the new car designed for the 2016 season, and to fill the void left after the British Formula 3 Championship folded in 2014. Hillspeed
Hillspeed is a motor racing team based in the United Kingdom. They currently participate in the GB3 Championship and the GB4 Championship. The team was founded in 1970 in order to run the British Saloon Car Championship entry of Morgan Ollerenshaw. In subsequent years, the team focused primarily on single-seater racing. Later, the company would also be involved in high performance road cars. In recent years, Hillspeed have been one of the most successful teams in breaking new talent in junior racing series, winning the 2010 Formula Renault BARC season with Alice Powell as well as back-to-back Ginetta Junior championships with Tom Ingram in 2010 and Seb Morris in 2011. Bartholomew Horsten (born 14 March 2002 in Sydney) is an Australian-Irish racing driver. He last competed in the 2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, driving for Hitech GP. Career Australian Formula Ford Series In 2018 Horsten made his single-seater debut, competing in the Australian Formula Ford Series, taking three podiums and one fastest lap to finish ninth in the championship. F4 British Championship In 2019, Horsten competed in British F4 with Arden where he achieved ten podium finishes, including his maiden victory in the second round at Donington Park. Reece Ushijima (born 13 January 2003) is a Japanese-American racing driver who is currently racing in the 2023 USF Pro 2000 Championship with Jay Howard Driver Development. He previously competed in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Van Amersfoort Racing. Hitech Grand Prix (formerly known as Hitech Racing) is a British motor racing team. It was founded in 2002 by Dennis Rushen and David Hayle. Dexter Macham Patterson (born 18 August 2003) is a British racing driver from Scotland currently competing in the British Touring Car Championship with Laser Tools Racing.
