The 2021 BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open was a professional women's tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts sponsored by BNP Paribas. It was the 25th edition of the Luxembourg Open, and part of the WTA 250 tournaments category of the 2021 WTA Tour. It was held in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg from 13 to 19 September 2021. WTA 250 Tournaments
WTA 250 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International tournaments, WTA International Tournaments. As of 2021, WTA 250 tournaments include events with prize money of approximately $250,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 280. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 470 for winning a WTA 500 tournament. This system differs slightly from that used for the men's ATP Tour, which has ATP Tour 250 events with 250 points for the winner (similar to WTA 250 tournaments), and two higher tiers of ATP tournaments offer 1000 and 500 points for winning, respectively. Ekaterina Alexandrova
Ekaterina Evgenyevna Alexandrova ( rus, Екатери́на Евге́ньевна Александро́ва, links=no; ; born 15 November 1994) is a Russian professional tennis player. She has won three WTA singles titles, three WTA 125 titles and seven singles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 26 September 2022, she reached her best singles ranking of No. 21. Lesia Viktorivna Tsurenko ( uk, Леся Вікторівна Цуренко; born 30 May 1989) is a Ukrainian tennis player. Tsurenko has won four singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as six singles and eight doubles tournaments on the ITF Circuit. Arianne Hartono (born 21 April 1996) is a Dutch tennis player. Hartono has won two singles and fifteen doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 12 September 2022, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 156, and on 11 July 2022, she peaked at No. 123 in the WTA doubles rankings. On 30 October 2017, Fett reached her best singles ranking of world No. 97, and on 21 May 2018, she reached her best doubles ranking of No. 348. Mandy Minella (born 22 November 1985) is a former professional tennis player from Luxembourg. Having made her debut on the WTA Tour in 2001, she peaked at No. 66 in the WTA singles rankings in September 2012, and No. 47 in doubles in April 2013.
