2021 Atlanta Dream Season
The 2021 WNBA season was the 14th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team began the season on May 14, 2021 at home against the Connecticut Sun. This was the first season that the Dream will play home games at the Gateway Center Arena at College Park. In the 2019 offseason the team elected to move from State Farm Arena. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 season was played at a neutral site. Mike Petersen began the season as interim head coach, but stepped down on July 24 due to health reasons. Darius Taylor took over as interim coach through the end of the regular season. The Dream began the season by losing their first two games, but then going on a four game winning streak. WNBA Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. Lindsey Pulliam
Lindsey Denise Pulliam (born August 6, 1999) is an American professional basketball for Valur of the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild kvenna. She was drafted by the Atlanta Dream in the third round of the 2021 WNBA draft. Pulliam was born in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and attended high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Maryland. Northwestern Pulliam was a four-star recruit going into college. She played college basketball at Northwestern University. Over four years, she started 123 games and averaged 16.5 points per game on a .379 shooting percentage. She had 120 steals and 25 blocks. Mikayla Pivec
Mikayla Pivec (born November 18, 1997) is an American basketball player for :es:Club Deportivo Promete, Club Deportivo Promete of :es:Liga Femenina de baloncesto, La Liga Feminina in Spain. Born in Bellevue, Washington, Pivec went to Lynnwood High School and played collegiately for Oregon State University. She was drafted by the Atlanta Dream with the 25th overall pick of the 2020 WNBA draft. In May, with the 2020 WNBA season in jeopardy due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, Pivec opted out of the season. On July 13, it was announced Pivec had signed a one-year contract with Club Deportivo Promete in Spain. Yvonne Turner
Yvonne Turner (born October 13, 1987) is an American-Hungarian professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Sopron Basket of the EuroLeague Women, and the Hungarian women's basketball league. She previously played with the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team from 2006 to 2010. Turner played professionally outside of the U.S. as well, including time in Australia, Ecuador, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Spain, Turkey. Renee Danielle Montgomery (born December 2, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player, sports broadcaster and activist who is currently vice president, part-owner, and investor of the Atlanta Dream, and one of three owners of the FCF Beasts Indoor Football Team; making her the first player in the WNBA to become an owner and executive of a team and first female owner in the FCF. Tianna Bartoletta née Madison (born August 30, 1985) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the long jump and short sprinting events. She is a two-time Olympian with three gold medals. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she placed fourth in the 100m race then won her first gold by leading off the world record-setting 4 × 100 m relay team. Cheyenne Parker (born August 22, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Early life Parker was born and raised in Queens, New York and grew up in a single mother home. Blake Julia Dietrick (born July 19, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who is currently playing for Lyon ASVEL in France. Kaela Davis (born March 15, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball for Georgia Tech before transferring to the University of South Carolina.
