2021 ATP Finals – Singles
Alexander Zverev defeated the defending champion Daniil Medvedev in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the Singles title at the 2021 ATP Finals. It was his second ATP Finals title, the first being in 2018. With the win, Zverev ended a six-year streak of different winners at the tournament, extending back to 2015. Novak Djokovic was attempting to tie Roger Federer's record of six ATP Finals titles, but lost in the semifinals to Zverev. Hubert Hurkacz, Casper Ruud, Jannik Sinner (as an alternate replacing Matteo Berrettini) and Cameron Norrie (as an alternate replacing Stefanos Tsitsipas) made their debuts at the event. Sinner became the youngest player to win a match at the year-end championships since Lleyton Hewitt in 2000. Alexander Zverev
Alexander "Sascha" Zverev (; born 20 April 1997) is a German professional tennis player. He has been ranked by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) as high as world No. 2, and was continuously ranked in the top 10 from July 2017 to November 2022. Zverev's career highlights include titles at the 2018 and the 2021 ATP Finals, and a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He has won 19 ATP Tour titles in singles and two in doubles, and reached his first major final at the 2020 US Open, finishing runner-up to Dominic Thiem. Zverev is the only active player outside of the Big Four with five Masters 1000 titles. Lleyton Glynn Hewitt (born 24 February 1981) is an Australian former world No. 1 tennis player. He is the most recent Australian man to win a major singles title, with two at the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon Championships. Aslan Kazbekovich Karatsev (russian: Аслан Казбекович Карацев, os, Хъарацаты Хъазыбеджы фырт Аслан; born 4 September 1993) is a Russian-Israeli professional tennis player. Andrey Andreyevich Rublev (russian: Андрей Андреевич Рублёв; born 20 October 1997) is a Russian professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 5 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved in September 2021. Rublev has won 12 ATP Tour singles titles. Janko Tipsarević ( sr-cyr, Јанко Типсаревић, ; born 22 June 1984) is a Serbian former tennis player. His career-high singles ranking is world No. 8, achieved on 2 April 2012. In his career, he won 4 ATP World Tour titles, one ATP doubles title, three Futures, and 15 Challenger titles. Tipsarević also won the 2001 Australian Open junior title. Gustavo Kuerten defeated Andre Agassi in the final, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2000 Tennis Masters Cup.
